Mexico

It’s loud, hot, dusty and the music sucks.

Mexico City airport was slick, the people friendly and helpful and I’m more likely to meet Salma Hayek here than at home, so all positive.

We are installing 2 engines and suddenly the modern Mexico appears. Paperwork at levels never before seen! As I’m doing manual labour they need my cardio gram results, medical history, drug test results etc. The lifting team must show proof of earnings so its proven they aren’t slaves, my hard drive, phone, iPad is not allowed on site and I had to list every tool to be signed in and out. My tool bag took me 1.5 hours, the lifting teams kit is a van full

I may self harm to pass the time or just keep a lookout for Salma, just in case.

Not what I expected.

Dave!

Got thrown off site, apparently shouting when someone is about to twist 1,500,000 euros of equipment isn’t acceptable.

Also when I’m physically working instead of supervising I would need to shave my beard off. That got a full on Paddington Bear Stare and I finished up and left.

It genuinely is H+S gone mad :o

I left, I’m now in a taxi on the last leg home, hence me spamming this great forum with my drivel :D

Also if I had that beard net I’d only wish I was working in a burger joint and spend all day daydreaming.

Dave!

You have a dangerous beard. And you nose it.

Went to puerto vallarta one year. Was an experience. Long time ago but won't be back.
