The running costs in total for the 20k miles he's done so far must be into double digits per mile!

Wow - pretty amazing. So... on the plus side, the clutch doesn't wear. On the negative, the gearbox was stripped and rebuilt by the manufacturer

So do all supercars need an engine out service every 4 years? Or just poorly engineered ones?

The engine was originally designed as an F1 engine and later modified for LMP use. If you want 100k miles between services, buy on old pushrod V8.

It's not really any bork at all either. A cracked synchro and a slight bit of corrosion starting on the ends of the springs seems like pretty good going imo, even for v. low mileage.

They do a Lambo version for people who have tiny dicks which may be more to your liking?

It could just be because years ago loads of Ferraris and the air-cooled 911s needed engine-out services and expensive timing belt changes and that seemed to be the norm, so we were always hearing of huge service costs, but 40K still seems like a lot for a car which was what, a 500K car?

I know the old "if you have to ask you can't afford it" and its great to see someone actually driving the car, but was still shocked.
