40 today. I want the last 10 years back. Life certainly goes into fast-forward when kids arrive...

HB!

My acceptance of mid-life just happened this afternoon - I finally got the balls to shave off all my hair rather than kidding myself that it was just a little thinning (I’ve got a few years before I’m 40 though!)

It's the best thing ever, once you finally realise you're as bald as other people know you are  A shaved head is great! A couple of times a week for 2 mins in the bathroom to whip it all off. No more fannying around with hair product or going to the hairdressers. Enjoy!

I skim read the above post and thought Rich had just started to shave his balls

Anyway HB.

I think 40 is quite mediocre, looking at my parents friends about 3/4 of them have divorced at 50 and both sides gone to marry someone 2 decades younger
Now that’s a real mid life crisis

50yo marrying 30yo? Where's the crisis in that, it sounds great 😂

I'm 46 this month, look at all the F***s I give.

Half your age and add 7 is our industry standard. 😁

I’ve just remembered that I have a weird 3x divorced uncle whose current wife is the same age as his eldest daughter.

The wife and I were talking about this last night, seems to take ages to get to 25 then you suddenly hit warp 9 and we both turn 44 this year and were like where did those 19 years go? 40 doesn’t really hit you, just enjoy it and happy birthday!

I reckon I'd just got used to being in my 30s when I realised I was almost halfway through my 40s. Fuck all you can do about it, so ignore it and get drunk

I'm 40 in December, yet still have a LOT of hair. Some of it grey.

Yet this last year I've rediscovered biking I'd given up in my 20's and have promised myself to get back behind my own drum kit within the year, something I haven't done since my early 20's either. I'm living with a 36yr old blonde (my first ever blonde) who still very much pulls off super tight jeans and has an ass to die for, and we're living in a beach front house in one of the top ten most expensive cities on earth. There's a lot to be said for getting older - apart from my back which barely works. But I'm glossing over that.

Thanks all, my 3rd parkrun this morning as I've started running again to back up my competitive swimming. Starting to hit home I may have to lose a few pounds to keep up with all the skinny buggers! Mid-life crisis indeed.

I may not have Rich's skillz or shortz, but I do have plenty of hair!

Cheers,
Jon

I’m enjoying my 40s more than my 30s because I give less of a fuck. Whereas I used to be terrified of “losing” everything I’d worked for in my 30s, I’ve realised in my 40s that most of that is an illusion.

My 40th I awoke in Ceasers Palace, my head ready to explode after drinking a 5ft test tube of spirits the night before. Epic
