Ferrari Options?

What would you rather have a Ferrari 458 Italia and a 308 GTB or a mint 430 Scuderia? Prices on the two options are about the same right now in the US.

I'd rather have whatever Macca I could get for the same money... probs.

I have no idea why the F430 option can even be considered vs a 488 and 308, and yes I know a Scuderia is not your normal 430, but even so.

Since the Pista was announced, there’s been a lot of demand by people looking to complete the full set - CS, Scud & Spec plus Pista, so prices are quite high at the moment. (The same will probably happen when the Pista spider is announced for the 16M and Aperta. )
Do you think demand will continue, or will there be a slight softening? I can see prices reducing in the short term, but then increasing longer term as the F8 specials show up etc.
The 458 is the last Ferrari NA V8, so may have a following, but you won’t get the same return as you potentially can with a special edition.
I’d go for the Scud (unless, with some evonomics, a Speciale became “affordable”.

Also, I imagine you keep track of auction prices already, but I’ve found the app Hammer Price to be brilliant for this.

Is it as an investment or to have the best car? Surely the 458 spanks the 430 in every real situation?

Considering you have those McLarens, which work well as dailies and also fun cars, why would you want “just” a 458? It’s not serving a different purpose.
Surely the 430 Scud is a significantly more special car, and less likely to overlap the uses of anything else in your collection

I thought you were asking what we would rather have?
Given that you already have the Supercar/Hypercar thing well covered, this seems to be more a question of "I want thing". In which case get the 458 and 308 as 2 thing must be better? And at least an old 308 will offer something different? (Even if it is "Christ I am glad cars dont drive like this any more").

458 for me. Based on very, very limited experience of both 458 and 650S, the 458 felt sweeter.

Market in the US is behaving a bit differently. Prices on 458s continue to drop (and will likely continue to do so for the next several years), the 430 Scuderia has softened a bit, and 308 GTBs have returned to earth with nice drivers in the US $40-50k range.
