Not watched any of the Yaris videos yet but it’d seem Toyota has made a bloody good car!

I looked at the configurator earlier; only 5 colours to choose from :|

I don’t know who is driving, but it jus made me think of Delecour.

The in-car footage - watching that LFB is mesmerising. 8-)

Ivan Ares according to a YT comment. No, I’d not heard of him either. Looks to be a Hyundai I20 rally driver currently.

Got the skills, for sure. I’ve been watching a bunch of left foot braking videos, Driver61 and Team O’Neill.

Probably quite useful for the stuff you are doing Jon.

Whilst I love H&T, I don’t see LFB as very relevant to road driving. Most road cara have “DBW throttle failure” safety systems that prevent it anyway. My old Leon would cut power if both were applied for more than about 0.5 seconds, returning after about 1sec if you released the brake. Evora allows a bit longer - close to a second, but won’t restore power until you release the throttle also - allowing power only when you re-press the pedal.

I used to use it all the time in my CLK and so then it translated easily onto the track. Obviously much harder in a manual than an auto or DSG, if you also need to downshift. There's a Team O'Neill vid with a guy in the forest in a Fiesta doing LFB with completely clutchless gearchanges in a manual, which I think I'd also need to master for LFB to actually help/be safe in those cases. A dab of LFB to turn the nose in when you don't need to change gear - that's worth some practice on the occasional open roundabout.

Luckily in the Fabia it doesn't seem to cut the power if you also press the brake. I was just wondering whether a manual shift with an auto blip would help but not if it's activated by pressing the clutch.

Interesting. I always use hire cars to refresh my clutchless change skills. Most recently a Vauxhall Movano hired to move some bulky stuff : with a van-level of “sproing” in the drivetrain - it was a doddle up and down.

Particularly enjoyable when you are in Abroadland and get a LHD manuel.

Very difficult to manage a fast, slick change every time though.

I imagine that would be useful in my 911. But I really should try mastering driving with three pedals first! I’m still well off the pace in my GT3. :?

Mito cuts the throttle when you brake. Very annoying as making whoosh hissy turbot noises on the brakes in the Lancia was great fun

Miami Blue, which I understand is being replaced by another blue now. Oh well, at least it won't be too commonplace.

The numbers are great, it has wide arches and no chavvy big spoilers, reasonable price, not fwd...: it ticks so many boxes!

Yet, I still have zero desire because it's a Yaris. #snob.

Great finance deals on it, 0% over 2 years then the balance to pay. If I though I could get away with 3 doors I would be very tempted. That and the worry that would probably be a bit of a theft target.

Yeah, that’s an old dragster thing. The butterfly valves are a bit more trick than the bolt on caps you usually get though
