Well this is warming up nicely

FBI* turn up at Stone's house armed to the tits to make the arrest.

Now the airports are shutting ops down amid air traffic control staff shortages due to the Gov't shutdown.

I wonder how much longer the Mueller play is going to last before he blows it open or Trump cracks.

ETA: *unpaid of course

I’ve been enjoying reading some of the theories about what’s going on.

There’s a very real possibility that the shutdown is an attempt to do two things:

1. Starve Mueller of resource and slowdown the investigation

2. Declare a state of emergency, this giving himself even more power

The fact that both of those are plausible at this stage is pretty shocking.

I’m amazed at how long the whole thing is taking. It makes me wonder if he will actually make it to the end of his first term unscathed.

Probably because someone pointed out his popularity ratings had tanked.

I guess we’ll see in 3 weeks how committed he genuinely is to his wall. I mean, he had 2 years where he had full control of the senate and congress so could have got his wall signed off easily but chose not to. It only became an issue again when he had the opportunity to blame others for it not happening but it became obvious people were blaming him and not the Dems. His plan backfired big time.

Tbh considering the sheer amount of journos who’s entire existence must be devoted to trying to find something to torpedo his presidency I am pretty impressed he’s still there

We live in weird political times. Trump and May have survived multiple things that would’ve individually ended the leadership of other politicians.

I think he’s stopped the shut down so that he can have his State of the Union address

Trump supporters during Obama:
"Uh but my second amendment, uh but immigration, etc"

Trump supporters while Trump literally shuts down government services, affecting air traffic, border safety, etc
<silence>

Odd that.

At this slow rate he’s going to be voted out before he’s impeached.

Things to note about Cohen: He’s been interviewed by the FBI for hundreds of hours. Mueller doesn’t ask questions he doesn’t already know the answers to because he collects as much evidence as possible prior to interview. Cohen did a plea deal to get 3 years and he’s just seen what happened to Manafort for violating his plea deal. Therefore, everything he says at this hearing will be 100% true (or at least 100% in line with what he’s told Mueller and consistent with Mueller’s evidence).

Yeah. That’s...unexpected.

That's a poor reporting of the facts though. The report said he was not exonerated, just that there was not enough evidence of collusion.

I'm trying to keep up with Seth Abramson's dialog tonight, but frankly he's type at 200 tweets per minute and it's hard going.

Not exonerated by Mueller, but AG Barr and Rosenstein have concluded there’s no basis for any charges.
