I like it. Those wheels are lovely, interior looks much better and I love the new arse.

Just watched the video; the new car looks a lot nicer than the initial spy pictures, although I’m not sure of the rear, particularly the position of the exhausts.

I'm still not sold on the back end either.
But otherwise - yeah.

I think I’ll wait for the 993.

Maybe it will be like a Lego re-release. We will get a 993 but with turbo engines and airbags

What's the Peugeot 308 replacement going to be called, I wonder?

What, you mean like this one:
On the 992 I generally like the front end - I think they've done a good job with that. Some people are getting in a twist about it not being a straight line between the bonnet and the front wings but I don't really care about that.
The interior (despite the extremely dull colour scheme of the one in the Carfection vid) looks good and I like the 993 and before horizontal look to the dash. I'm not sure about the central tacho - looks a but out of place sticking forward of the screens but I'm sure I could live with it - the twiddly paddle for a gear selector is definitely crap though.
Two points really let it down for me:
One is the treatment of the light bar on the rear end - its way too high and continues a negative trend started with the 991.1 of making the car look taller across the rear. The exhaust (which I presume are fake) are also a halfway house between central mounted and one at each side - I think it just makes it look like it has a squint. Definitely a step backwards from the 991.2
Second is its weight issue. An extra 50kgs is pretty crap - especially since pretty much all that weight does nothing to improve the car - added emissions filters and uprating the PDK box to cope with a future hybrid system that isn't fitted yet! Oh well, at least I presume you could save a chunk of that by speccing the correct, manuel gearbox.
Hopefully they'll re-work that rear end significantly with a 992.2 refresh.
Are they going to follow the Kia C'eed's naming convention, do you think?
Peugeot 3'09
Porsche 9'93
It could catch on

Aventurine green back on the options list apparently - very cool. Wish they’d resurrected that before now.

Ooh, are they bringing back Nephrite for the interior too?

To my knowledge sadly not. Do you want that in combo with the rouched seats, Simon?

Why do you presume the exhausts are fake? (I've only skimmed the video with no sound, so I may be missing something obvious)
I like it though, it doesn't have that up on stilts look that the first 991 had. I like the new back end, hopefully the anoraks hate it so it becomes cheap in the future .
