I just finished a short article trying to capture what its like to drive a Jaguar XJR-15. It is posted:

Interesting report. I've had daydreams of owning one in the past but you have reassured me that it would be too much for the road (and me for that matter). Just as well I'm not a billionaire as I bet I'd buy one anyway.

As my absolute favourite car that was wonderful to read.
It's easy to get lost in thoughts of how stunning it looks and how literaly perfect the spec is (Mid V12 NA, manual, RWD) that the reality of what sounds like an utterly compromised "car" is quite something.
I guess there's a significant level of pragmatism/cynicism with things around TWR that lead to such flaws never being sorted, near enough really was good enough.

My guess is the "flaws" never got sorted due to Jaguar wanting to insure that the XJR-15 did completely overshadow the XJ220 (as it was powered by what was originally promised (V12) for the XJ220)
