I had said the only thing i'd change the S1 for would be an Exige...but.....

They've chatted about this on SELOC.

https://forums.seloc.org/viewthread.php?tid=448609

As mentioned on there "Need to look into why the last owner had it a few weeks before needing a full engine rebuild at circa 20K(depending on what parts were reused from the blown motor) then off load it weeks after it is all up and running."

The answer will almost certainly be "because people lose their shit when they get a big bill and they almost always sell up and never reap the benefit of their investment"

Do people really do that? I'm the opposite - fucked if someone else is going to get to enjoy my investment! This also explains why I hang onto stuff for so long.

That car does nothing at all for me. Lotus wise, i still really want an S1. I've got a massive boner for a V6 Exige too though which surprises me. A few local friends now have them, in fact 3 of them have bought them in the last year, one has upgraded to the bigger supercharger kit that Hoffmans offer (350bhp), one of the others is a Cup. Having driven them they're surprisingly enjoyable. Early ones now look a 'baragin' too compared to othe price of the new ones.

I had no idea there was! What your username on SELOC, I'll ask Stu to fix it? Or email him webmaster@seloc.org

I don’t have 2-stage verification on seloc, but it NEVER remembers me.

Yeah it does doesn't it, can't remember what it is though, is it 430bhp alledgedly? He sent me a printout showing 350bhp but that was at the wheels and probably a real number.

There is a lovely yellow Exige Roadster which I could just about afford if I broke the bank at Oakmere. It's still there and it tempts me regularly.

It was always my plan to sell the Elise and get the Evora, but the fact that I'm a big girl and enjoy converties does keep making me question my choice.

Maurice went from an Evora to ExigeS, I think?

Yes - Maurice went from an early N/A Evora to a v6 Exige S (fixed head as opposed to roadster).

The V6 Roadster is an absolute dog's dinner.

I just think the shape requires a hard roof and the wing to be cohesive.
