New Tyres?
New Tyres?
Anyone know of a cracking deal on 2 or 4 tyres at the moment? Having a nose at Blackcircles but nothing outstanding.
Re: New Tyres?
Just try camskill
1. Use black circles to identify a fitter that will put on internet-sources tyres
2. Call them up and get a price to fit. £10 per corner gets you a proper job ime. Anything less and they try to save time doing static instead of dynamic balance etc.
3. Buy from camskill
4. Put moneyz saved into beer fund

Re: New Tyres?
My local tyre place was £10 per corner more expensive than online for all-season tyres for the Sorento. By the time I get them fitted it wasn't worth buying them from mytyres/oponeo etc
Re: New Tyres?
pretty much the same for me with the MPS4S for the sake of £10 a tyre it was less hassle just to turn up at a local fitter

Re: New Tyres?
I used Kwik-Fit online for my recent PS4's as they were only the cost of fitting more than Camskill and it's just easier. I use them more often than not nowadays when I used to use Camskill all the time. Mytyres is used occasionally, for example when I got a full set of P Zero S/C's last year. No one else sold them and I wanted to try them.

Re: New Tyres?
Good luck finding a garage that will fit customer supplied tyres. Lots won't do that any longer around here, or charge enough that the saving from the likes of Camskill is wiped out.mik wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 8:36 am Just try camskill

I've been using Blackcircles a lot lately as they seem to always have fairly competitive prices, and have been by far the cheapest for GY F1s. I get them fitted at one of their Pit Stop places just up the road - can get an allotted time slot so I can just drop it in, wander off for a brew for 30mins, and sorted.
Re: New Tyres?
my usual mode of attack is to find the cheapest i can online then bell Kwikfit and see if they will price match.
Re: New Tyres?
https://www.tyresonthedrive.com for me. Not the cheapest, but worth it for convenience.

Re: New Tyres?
Costco is offering up to £100 off four Bridgestone tyres at the moment. I use mytyres/blackcircle typically, but Costco have removed nails/spun the wheels and not charged anything, so I always check their price now.
Cheers,

Re: New Tyres?
Fitting is not a problem, my Saab Specialist is happy to do that. It may not be worth the hassle though. I don't have a Costco and years ago they fitted 4 tyres to my Puma (not yellow) and damaged the centre caps which hacked me off. Might just try Kwik Fit for price matching as my mate works there and he is trustworthy. Cheers
Re: New Tyres?
I’ll do you a cracking deal on 2 or 4 tyres. They’re mountain bike tyres, probably about 10 years old and in my garage. Almost certainly cracked.

Re: New Tyres?
Yep, I used them for the Michelin Crossclimates on the Yeti and just got a quote for some MPS4s for the Megane (would need to check if they are the 4S, price quoted slightly less than blackcircles)
Left over crest; tightens.
Re: New Tyres?
I used Blackcircles last time, for the few quid saving over Tyresonthedrive and the others who come to you. Wish I hadn't bothered:
- the fitting place I chose on the basis it was open on Saturday mornings wasn't, but I didn't find out until I'd already placed the order so had to choose somewhere less convenient
- Blackcircles gave me a specific time slot at the less convenient place. I turned up and there must have been the best part of a dozen Blackcircles customers already there, plus the place's own customers. The tyre place were nice about it, said Blackcircles don't get allocated time slots and that if I came back at 2pm it'd be quieter.
So, half a Saturday wasted in the end for about ten quid saving. Really not worth it.

Re: New Tyres?
Our local tyre depot told me to order from Black Circles on line and the tyres were delivered to the depot and fitted next day. The fitted price was less than I remember paying at the dealers/local suppliers 15 years ago!
Re: New Tyres?
I just show the tyre fitter my phone with a screenshot of the tyre I want on the blackcircles website with the price there. At that point it’s up to him to take it or leave it. Much better for the fitter too as it cuts out the middle man. They profit more and I get my tyres changed by someone I trust who won’t bugger the rim.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: New Tyres?
You do yourself no favours by bringing up the subject of rim buggering around these parts Mito.Mito Man wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 3:15 pm I just show the tyre fitter my phone with a screenshot of the tyre I want on the blackcircles website with the price there. Re: New Tyres?
I just fit mine myself, with a teaspoon, a lollipop stick, and a big jar of marmite.

I got some from kwikfit once, a season they were cheapest. Ordered on line. They did next day mobile fitting for free IIRC
