Re: Harry’s Garage
obviously
Louvre story is a good one
Meant to say thanks to HBP formerly of this parish, I had a ride in one at Millbrook round the Alpine track, incredible noise
.
Re: Harry’s Garage
He’s still got it hasn’t he - There’s nowhere else you’d learn about the little details like the Custom Becker radio Or how the roof goes in the frunk.
Re: Harry’s Garage
speedingfine Didn’t know that - it wasn’t Phil’s was it?
I didn’t much fancy a CGT at launch due to the spikey handling comments, but ever since that evo analogue article Harry yabbers on about in the vid, where they reported the taming that the MPSS provide, I’ve been totally in lust with them.
They were very slow to climb in value when other super cars were already spiralling at £stoopid - so wish I’d had a spare £300k and would have had the choice of several.

Re: Harry’s Garage
I was in touch with Phil recently got a gf who lives in Berlin.
Look forward to watching this one
I remember Sambaman buying one on Pistonheads - was a good read seeing a guy with tats stepping into a CGT - shortly after he stepped into prison for beating up women
Well I thought I would look to see what happened to him https://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/181525 ... dies-jail/
Scary timing

Re: Harry’s Garage
Quite possibly the best Harry’s Garage videos. You could really tell from Harry’s voice and expression how much he love the car. Outstanding video. The final shot of it reminded me of a Top Gun clip; F-14 with afterburner on.
And the car, well, easily one for my Euromillion lottery garage.

Phenomenal.
I know variety is the spice of life and all that but if I were Harry I’d still be tempted to sell everything in the garage (and possibly the garage as well) and buy a CGT.
I guess he’s largely been there with the Zonda though and IIRC decided to sell that as insurance etc. all just became prohibitive. I’m sure the same goes for the Porsche, too.

Yes saw that, seems a bit strange.
Re: Harry’s Garage
I was surprised by his comment about the Macca F1 rolling in corners ?
Re: Harry’s Garage
That's a brilliant video of one of my favourite cars in living memory.

Do I remember correctly that the "standard" F1 has no anti-roll bars?speedingfine wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 12:41 pmReally? Watch Tiff's lap round Goodwood from its launch again Nathan.
Middle-aged Dirtbag
Re: Harry’s Garage
I think it did have anti-roll bars as standard, but that's from my tired brain rather than google.

Aye, the big lean angle it gets through the fast corner at the start of that video is one of those things that always sticks in my mind.speedingfine wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 12:41 pmReally? Watch Tiff's lap round Goodwood from its launch again Nathan.
An absolute unit
Re: Harry’s Garage
I recall that he has referred to it as being 'skittish'.speedingfine wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 12:41 pmReally? Watch Tiff's lap round Goodwood from its launch again Nathan.
Just revisited that early TG test - 'lively' + 'mild understeer'
But not rolling, although maybe a fair assessment against more modern cars.

Re: Harry’s Garage
It was always a lot softer than similar cars of the time as it was designed to be more useable on the road. The standard road cars they make today are generally said to ride better and be more supple than their closest rivals.
Cheers, Harry
