Harry’s Garage
Re: Harry’s Garage
You stick a big Mercedes emblem on that black grill and it's an AMG GT!
Re: Harry’s Garage
Just watched some of the video - that is a damn good looking car imo. The whole stance and aggression is perfect in my eyes.
I don't like the interior much though, even though the seats are awesome.

Re: Harry’s Garage
I'm probably being a bit unfair there as the Merc clearly has a steeper A post which shortens its doors which in turn extends and accentuates the long bonnet.
Couldnt be more different

Re: Harry’s Garage
This is the problem with blatant parts sharing. Every time I hear "how did you achieve that power increase", a voice inside my head immediately responds "presumably that's a question for Mercedes". It would be good to know whether or not they modify the engine or whether AMG do everything (possibly at the request of AM) and it just gets dropped in - I suspect the latter as OEMs dislike people fiddling with their engine in other applications. That also wasn't helped by the original Vantage's powerplant being lower output than the AMG GT it was borrowed from suggesting they retain ultimate control.
That said, it does have a much better front end and interior than before. Rear end still looks fussy though. I'd still buy an AMG GT over it though I think (especially given they're available for a reasonable price) and a 911 over either... which is what I did.

AM will be given pre-determined limits and then be able to do what they want. Whether that be peak pressures, torque limits, injection angles, various temps and mechanical limits etc.

I would love to have seen some of th epic 1980s AM styling cues of the Victor making their way into mainstream Astons. But probably it is too niche...

Re: Harry’s Garage
I heard <looks around> that when they were introduced - Micky J misheard " 'arry" as "Annie". And due to plastic-surgery induced freakiness, and precognitive wokeness - didn't question the apparent gender mis-match. The whole song is really about Mr Metcalfe.Explosive Newt wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 11:43 amApparently it was a 1980s Metcalfe describing that a Maserati was emitting "the sound of a crescendo" that inspired much of the song.

Re: Harry’s Garage
Not the first time I have heard that, and I can believe it. Steve Cropley once heavily implied that it was him repeatedly asking "Are you okay, are you okay 'Arry?" twenty or more times during an impassioned defence of the Mondial that gave rise to the song's notorious chorus.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know any of that. My bad

You don’t want to know where the inspiration for “Beat it” came from
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Harry’s Garage
I wonder if Harry read this forum as he did the old evo one...

I didn’t realise PW had very young sprogs when he passed - must have been 60 when Joe was born?
Nice problem to own a Sagaris at 20 - that you can’t yet drive due to insurance costs.

At least they've got somewhere to store them

I didn't fully follow the story. So the mother took the kids to a TVR dealer and let them pick whatever TVR they wanted?
