Re: Harry’s Garage
My favourite are these old Field marshalls, massive single cylinder 2-stroke diesel engine and you can run machinery off of that big flywheel using a belt. They're a bit of a curiousity, obviously got killed off by the better tractors with multi cylinder engines and a proper PTO.

That would explain it then! I for one am hoping the DB12 has column mounted displays, is controlled with a joystick, has 17 forward gears and a power take off. Sounds much superior to the DB11 superleggeraintegrale_evo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 17, 2018 4:07 pm The David Brown tractor people bought Aston Martin in 1947

My father bought an old Massey Ferguson years ago too, then sold it for what was back then, a minor profit. Got tired of digging us out of the snow in the winter, so bought the tractor with the front loader included. Took us about 6 weeks to figure out how to start the thing, needed a blow torch on the intake and a shitload of quickstart or similar Went in the end though, always with great big bellowing clouds of black smoke initially. Abiding memory is him chasing me around the fields doing 'rallying' or an approximation of it.
Re: Harry’s Garage
Single cylinder dumper across a field for me. Even had to start it with a starting handle.

On paper promised so much, but failed to hit the spot.

I saw that video in my YouTube updates and didn’t even realise it was a Harry’s Garage one. It’ll just be filler while he’s away in Italy.
I’m waiting for the Thema 8.32 video he teased a couple of weeks ago.

New one, Alpine A110:
Harry seems to be going for the Where's Wally look, or is it a French onion seller, a tribute to the birthplace of todays vehicle?

Glad he showed how great the 7 speed dsg box is.
It's noticeably better than the GT-R in our S4.
There's no way on earth that I would even consider replacing our S4 with the current model now that they have ditched that box.

Re: Harry’s Garage
Exactly. A car for someone else to buy first. Which they won't.
Re: Harry’s Garage
It almost says it all that Harry was so enthusiastic about the Alpine, but isn't buying one

Re: Harry’s Garage
I thought they were all sold out or something?
Although if I had a disposable £50k to throw at a car I'd be buying a nearly new C63S..

Yep - that's one of the least positive reviews I've seen from Harry, and I totally agree with his preference for the previous (original) R8. The latest one just looks like a TT and does nothing for me at all.

In my opinion every current Audi model looks worse than the one it replaced

Ugh, that video, talking about lightweight, chuckable cars really makes me miss the Puma. Oh well.
Alpina looks nice. £50k nice? I don't know, and don't care as I don't have £50k.
Also, every modern four pot turbo sounds shit.
Braaaap-brp-brraaap.
They all sound like that, and it's fucking boring.

Re: Harry’s Garage
Surprisingly quick though. 4.5 seconds to 60 is nippy, but 10-ish to the ton? Not shabby at all!

Re: Harry’s Garage
It seems to be garnering almost entirely positive reviews, with most people mentioning that they are definitely worth the money. It seems to be a great middle ground betwixt Elise and Cayman: a lightweight sportscar you can genuinely use as a daily.
