That's because there's a £5000 depsoit contribution so he still only puts in £20k of his own money. But it's evidence that the Sport needs support to sell whereas the RR does not.

Finally - a radically different looking Aston!

Just kidding.

I've only watched the first half, but 660bhp is now entry-level Aston. :o I'm also a little confused that "Vantage" was used for the most powerful/focussed Aston back in the day, and is now used for their lowest-level car :? .

the vantage name has been used for the entry level car for the last about 15 years.

Interior is a major improvement on the old one which had those horrible air vents. The front grill is even more like a catfish though.
How about not having a sig at all?

I'd definitely noticed them using it on lesser models - hadn't really appreciated that they were the entry level models. I am happy to accept that this is me being dopey, and it possibly also illustrates my level of interest in their product range... I've always liked the big front-engined Astons, but I've never felt a strong desire for one.

To me It feels like Ford using "Ghia" for their base models, or MINI applying the Cooper moniker to absolutely everything, so it no longer carries any meaning or cachet.

In the 90’s the Vantage was more powaah!, but Vantage has been the entry level AM since 2005.. so just the last 21 years to notice it! 😁

I thought the lineage was from the 90s Vantages carrying V8s to the 'entry level' Vantage in '05 being a V8?

Several 6-cylinder Vantage models pre-date the 80's/90's V8 Vantage models. Originally the Vantage label was applied to indicate a performance upgrade over the lesser versions in the range.

I assumed you thought you were doing a fuel load calculation, and adding in some safety margin.

I'm not sure I'm going to bother watching this - does Harry drive it rather than walking round it in a studio?

With you on the Vantage though; it wasn't a separate model line until the shortened DB9 with a V8 came out, it was a hotter version of the normal Aston model. The 2005 car was a V8 Vantage and I quite liked the way they used the name when the main Aston was now a V12. Then the Vantage was given a V12 too and it seemed appropriate for the hotter version to be called a Vantage even if they all were... and then fuck knows what each Aston variant has been since about 20 years ago because they're all pretty much variations on the same thing except the DBX. It was only googling that reminded me there was a more recent (ugly) Vantage between the 2005 car and this new one
