4 Paw Dog Drive Fleet running report
Re: 4 Paw Dog Drive Fleet running report
That's just raised a great big beaming smile!
Re: 4 Paw Dog Drive Fleet running report
Just had the horrible, awful experience of walking in the vets with a dog and walking out with just a collar.
Wife left work at 2pm and all was well. I arrived home from work at 5pm to find Alfie lethargic and not interested in food and not taking treats- felt his belly and he let out a really loud yelp.
Called vets and they said take him straight down. They identified he had a fastish pulse, low blood pressure and showing signs of anemia. They performed and ultrasound on his belly and found a massive tumour that appeared to have haemorrhaged. Nothing that could be done so it made the decision an easy one
RIP Alfie. A good boy to the end

Thanks everyone. Tony seems to be doing ok without Alf, but we’ll keep an eye on him to be sure nothing develops

Delayed posting this here for a few days out of respect to Alfie , but our oldest dog hit a milestone at the start of the week.
She's half blind, half deaf, covered in (thankfully benign) lumps, has arthritis and a weak bladder, and her bark is a bit like Wheezy from Toy Story now, BUT she's never had any serious health issues and still greets you every morning with a snoot boop and a skip-around breakfast dance. We thought we'd lost her about 18m ago when she collapsed in the garden - rushed to the emergency vets, who confirmed that we should indeed phone our kids so they could come and say goodbye, but they said "we'll give her a strong painkiller first but we aren't holding out much hope". Within an hour she was up on her feet asking for her dinner.

Re: 4 Paw Dog Drive Fleet running report
After the loss of Alfie the house didn’t feel right with just one dog. Toby seemed ok but thought he would benefit from having a friend once again
We popped into our local dogs trust the first may bank holiday and saw quite a few lovely dogs their but one dogs description seemed perfect- could happily live with other dogs, very sweet and cuddle loving, and very similar play style to Toby.
We went and met him on Sunday and were immediately smitten. We introduced Toby on Monday and they got on like a house on fire
Following all the dogs trust procedures and stuff we picked him up today.
Welcome to the fleet Chief the lurcher!!
