If it's not been done for years / ever than I bet it looked pretty spectacular
I must admit, I was a bit worried the whole car was about to dissolve before my eyes

Dave!

For some reason Smart decided the best Idea was to put the bolt in from the disk side so that you have to take the brake caliper, brake disk, hub (held in place by a one time use stretch bolt) and backplate off to make room for the bolt to be removed, rather than put the nut on that side  One of the two exhaust studs is also not coming out so I've booked it in to be done by a local garage, and once that's done I'm thinking about selling it and get something else, it's been non-stop lately and I'm over it.

Bought a new steering wheel for the Civic, its one of the standard fit Momo's that came on early MX-5's, and a DC2 ITR titanium gear knob (not shown) to replace the shonky ebay special that was on there, hopefully I'll be able to drive it sometime...

Has someone put an instrument cluster out of an Auto in it for some reason, or do they all have the Auto gear display on them?
It started life as a 1.5 automatic and was converted to a B16A and 5 speed at some time in the past, but they never changed over the cluster. They're the same on the manual anyway apart from the gear indicator - for some reason the autos rev counter goes to 9000rpm. I might fit a S2000 cluster at some point (a pretty straight forward swap) but that's a way down the list of priorities.

M235i passed its mot yesterday. It was booked in for a service as well but I was told it didn't need one until next year or till it's done 18k miles since the last service (done 12.5k). Not sure how I feel about longer two-year service intervals, I prefer yearly ones to keep the car is good condition but if the don't take my money...

Yeh but thought I'd get it done while the dealer's service department are still open. Don't think I would have went in if they had told me over the phone, but I'm likely to get a new car later this year so want everything sorted now.

I don't like the extended service intervals, I think I would still have had an oil change done, but then I tend to assume I'm going to keep a car forever so like to think long term

I've been busy over the last weekend attending to the worst of the stone chips. There were quite a few...

And that's not including some on the roof, flanks and rear bumper.

All done and flatted back. Now just need to find time to get the machine polisher out and keep fingers crossed :?

I've just sent him a link to a clean looking £750 Mk1 Ka and a £300 used Puma engine.

I'm a monster.

I've found some photos on an old USB stick whist having a clear out 8-)

Bought in 2003. One of the very last 164's and my first car after 5 years of dull company cars. I loved it and still think its the car I've enjoyed the most.

As sedate as it looks it was rapid between and it sounded like a supercar.

You should've seen it before I rinsed it - looked like I'd left it parked under a bridge at Blackpool sea front

it was lighter and brighter than it looks in that photo.

It also had a charcoal velour interior and wooden steering wheel which added to the 'old man' look.

But what a motor 😎

Always likes the 164. Back in the day they looked like a big old barge though. Compared to modern stuff they seem pretty tiny these days
