I think they add more ballast to it as it gets colder? I’m certain that sometimes when I pass gritters my car just gets a gentle sandblasting and other times it’s like going through a meteor shower
Or maybe it’s just the same grit formulation but they vary the size?

Turns out it's all rock salt but they do indeed increase the density of the spread as temperature reduces.

Aye it's all rock salt and most of it's mined up here. Always wanted to go down there as it looks immense.

Didn’t realise the grit we use is produced locally, that’s pretty cool and in a way makes it more surprising after we get a month of solid frost and the council starts to run out of grit
Never thought that the UK would have salt mines!

The salt mines under my town (Winsford) produce the majority of the rock salt used in the UK iirc. They do mini tours into the mine occasionally, big enough to drive those huge tipper trucks through! Some areas are used for warehousing now too.

A query for the OV9 hive mind. I just put new rear wheels/tyres on the M140i due to the wheels being out of shape. This was causing a vibration at motorway speeds.

What has become apparent since changing the wheel/tyres is that the vibration is still there at the same speeds. Anyone have any thoughts as to what it can be??

Fwiw, you feel none of the vibrations through the steering wheel, it's all though the bum Dyno.

(without hitting anything, but it was pretty close)
Nef proved to me it’s easier to reverse a trailer in pitch dark than daylight 😄

Comrades, I've just read this line elsewhere and found it confusing; 'they had icing problems on the two viaducts due to a cold wind blowing down the Thaw Valley'.

Well that was awesome. One year after Steve first got me involved in grassroots motorsport, and after a breakdown on the way to the Oxford MC Targa a few weeks ago, the Fabia finally got its first Targa outing back at Rushmoor, where I first navigated for Steve.

Brilliant day. Running in the dark at the end wa particularly amusing. My handbrake works well.

Issue with the prop? Or a tyre with an internal (band) fault? :|

But before really suggesting that I'd watch them rebalancing and check the machine us set to dynamic as opposed to static, and that the last thing they do is spin them up and show all zeroes in terms of weights needed.
