Your fleet running reports
Re: Your fleet running reports
Nice purchase
Does it have the Hydropneumatic Suspension ?
ETA - it looks like they all did of this era

Yeti now has Carplay activated. Highly recommend Startin Skoda in Powick - despite it being a fixed standard price installation, they washed the car very thoroughly, did a video inspection and found it is on variable service intervals so didn't try to push their service plan on me. Really nice dealership with excellent service. Completely different to Heritage in Gloucester who were rubbish.

It's in great condition and no issues in the MOT history, but they kept no history whatsoever and the fella said he serviced it himself
Only problem I can see so far is the clutch is biting high, but no actual slipping. Yet. I appreciate this may eventually scrap the car, but as I paid £500 I can live with this
Good to be back in a shonky French car, it's a lot more comfortable than the BX was

Indeed it does and I dropped it right down when I parked it at work this morning

We're upto 2 hydropneumatic Citroens on the forum, the takeover is on!
Not sure if they use different front strut tops to the Xantia, but I'd recommend checking them to make sure you don't have an unwelcome surprise one day!

4 weeks to the day since I ordered them, the bearings I need to put my S2k engine back together arrived, so a few hours later i'd built an engine.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Any tweaks whilst it's apart @dan ?
Re: Your fleet running reports
Not really, lighter flywheel and stiffer engine mounts. Other than that it’s going back together as it was.
Re: Your fleet running reports
Either of you guys watching number27 on youtube as he's just had a BX GTi16v recommissioned? I've tried to persuade him he'll get lots of interest in a video series that will involve a light resto. It's a lovely oddball thing.speedingfine wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 2:19 pmJesus, thanks for that16vCento wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 1:18 pm We're upto 2 hydropneumatic Citroens on the forum, the takeover is on!

I was also going to suggest RitchyKitchy's UpnDown vids - he's got a few where he's doing the clutch (amongst other things) on Hubnut's old C5 estate. And he has some of his BX 16TS and SM.drcarlos wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 11:48 amEither of you guys watching number27 on youtube as he's just had a BX GTi16v recommissioned? It’s a shame bodywork is so absurdly expensive, it wasn’t all that long ago you could get a half decent same colour blow over for a grand, which would probably help keep a lot of worthless but interesting cars on the road.
Instead, they get to the point where they get scruffy, aren’t worth spending on and end up getting scrapped.

We need our own Maaco don't we, ideal for cheap blowovers like you say, anything better and more involved goes to specialists.integrale_evo wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 11:56 am It’s a shame bodywork is so absurdly expensive, it wasn’t all that long ago you could get a half decent same colour blow over for a grand, which would probably help keep a lot of worthless but interesting cars on the road.

Yeah that's my only big expense for the Activa, it needs a full respray.
So much money now for a half decent job.
I've spoke to Rich (upndown) a few time as he has an Activa he was going to V6 bit I think he's got too much on so isn't going to bother now.
He has an SM now though so I don't blame him!
Not seen the number27 video so I'll have a look

Re: Your fleet running reports
Today was more productive than I expected, finished the engine by 11am, finished the install by 6pm.
Re: Your fleet running reports
M140i had a big service the other day. As undramatic as always because nothing breaks and nothing ever falls off. As with all the BMW's I've had utterly reliable. £567 was a little cheeky but still much lower cost of servicing than the thieving buggers at Mercedes.
New car arrives shortly. I'm hoping next Friday or early the week after.
