A little lower than standard so I’m really pleased with the ride height. When it gets the respray I’m going to find a 10mm or so deep rubber lip on the front bumper as it was close to kerbs etc before and will be a bit closer now. Plus I think it’ll give it a slightly more aggressive look.

MOT and air-con next. Just needs a re-gas, maybe.

Fiddlesticks.

Galaxy has thrown an "engine malfunction" message on the dash. Wouldn't be that bad, except we're sat on a small island about 700 miles from home, and ideally need the car to drive back later in the week.

Activated our European breakdown cover, currently waiting for a call from the local agent (RAC > EU central desk > local agent > mechanic?).

Car starts, runs and drives. No untoward noises or loss of performance that I can detect, so fingers crossed it is something simple and easily fixed. Apparently the MK3 Galaxy wasn't sold in Denmark with the 1.6 Ecobooooooost engine, which stumped the local garage I took it to in the first place (although based on the look of the shop and the mechanic I would think he'd be more comfortable if I had pulled up in a Ford Anglia instead).

Do you have a reader that can (read and) clear the code?

No. Very annoyingly I don't. The one I bought didn't work, so I sent it back and never ordered a replacement. But I think that's going to be a necessity from now on.

WiFi dongle type are tiny and therefore easy to store. Can read and clear codes even whilst you are moving…..

Went for a swim in the geothermal pool at Penzance last Thurs and sadly came back to see some fvcker had hit the o/s rear door and arch. There's no cctv either so we'll have to sort it ourselves.

The door looks to have been pushed in and popped back out as it has some ripples which arent obvious at first glance. The rear arch has taken the worst of it:

I'm hoping that a PDR type will be able to sort it and that I can polish the scuffs out. It's hard to see if any of the scuff marks have gone below the paint layer.

People.

I ingrained that into everyone I worked with in my last job. Every time something went wrong, every time there was a problem, the root cause was the same.

Yep.

At first I was convinced it was the Mini next to us, as it had scrapes on the front corner. But the heights didn't match up and when I took a look around it the Mini was scuffed on all the corners and covered in little dings. How very Cornish. It would have also been really fvcking brazen to stay parked next to us

Galaxy all sorted. Turns out "engine malfunction" = low coolant. Wasn't very low, but enough to trigger the message.

Feels about as useful a message as when our old Mazda started flashing the DPF warning to let us know the oil service internal hadn't been reset after being serviced.
