Apart from that yellow TWR monstrosity, I've only ever seen an XJ220 interior in that colour I think!

I think most S ones had it too. I’d quite like an S with a racier interior tbh.

I was always astounded that TWR pulled 400kg out of the XJ220 with the S version. That’s just ridiculous.

Probably of zero interest to most people on here, but I found this interesting.

Back in 2009 the 155 turbo was the quickest engine they did and usually fitted to the sporty versions with 17in wheels, spoiler, sport bumper etc so was surprised to see this billy basic spec 155. Visually looks more like a 75 or 95bhp model and noticed it still has the brembo calipers too. Didn’t realise they’d fit behind those 16” wheels, I had been looking for a set for winters but assumed they wouldn’t fit my brake upgrade.

Mines a slightly later multiair 135, with a tuning box so supposed to be around 160bhp. Earlier t-jet turbod were either 120 or 155 bhp, they were replaced by multiair tbs and were 135 or 170bhp.

It’s not fast, but pretty peppy with a decent mid range shove. Obviously you always get used to the power you have and want more, but for general day to day stuff it’s fine, and feels pretty brisk on tighter roads.

I honestly really enjoy mine, thrashing it about reminds me of my youth. Being used to much older cars it took a bit of getting used to. In normal mode the steering is too light and the accelerator pedal really mushy compared to all the stuff with a proper cable I’d owned before. In dynamic the steering has an artificial springyness to it, but the accelerator feels razor sharp. Shame they had to play with a gimmicky mode switch and couldn’t just have a standard setting somewhere in the middle.

Once used to the feel, the steering is really quick and pointy, makes the car feel lively and a lot lighter than it probably is.

They got excellent safety ratings, and there are loads of airbags everywhere, plus it feels solid and screwed together properly even if some of the interior plastics are rather cheap feeling.

The boot isn’t huge, and the loading lip is pretty high, and it can apparently be a bit claustrophobic in the back if any of that is important, but I find it feels pretty spacious in the front.

I'm just about to start a new job with an hours commute each way, are they overly noisy on the motorway? I've been driving a 25-year-old Nissan Pulsar for the last 9 months, so our perceptions of noisy might be different

No, while not exactly a mile munching barge it’s fine on the motorway. My daily commute is around 45mins each way, but have done several 150 mile + motorway trips with no complaints.
