I’ll hand my CG card in :(
996.1 Turbo had the different shaped lights first so it's not just a 996.1/996.2 distinction.
As noted in this (rather educational) vid. I still have regret about the 996.2 4S that I came close to buying - it just wouldn't have worked with the kids at that time.

Blimey, stop with the fucking 'educational' Porsche videos - they contain the sort of trite info that anyone who has spent 20 years on car forums will already know

The S6 has RS6 running and running wnership costs without all the power. It’s a lovely quirky thing but never quite hit the mark imo.

The 4.0 tdi A8 though, lovely thing.

A8 is almost the same as the Bentley though (underpinnings are literally the same), just a different engine, allthough tbf I’ve not had a V8 diesel yet so it’s not a hard no.

But regardless, nothing’s happening until (lack of) sobriety intersects with eBay opportunity in the right (wrong) way.

If they'd fitted the engine from that A8 to the 957 Cayenne, I think I'd be perfectly happy with one of those.

And I'm not planning on doing the conversion myself

You do realise that's a very, very small, niche audience, right?

the first car I drove regularly after I passed my test was my Boss's 4.2 V8 Petrol A8. I used to drive him to Luton on a Friday afternoon and have the car for the weekend and then collect him on the Monday.

Half day every Friday and a fully fueled A8 for the weekend - Nice... 8-)

Don't know which description is worse, the "AI" one or the seller's.

Yes, you're right, it's not a massive sack of baggy handling shit driven by terrible people - as discussed in here recently as I recall - that comes with the wrong engine fitted because it's a replica.
Replica Based on 1.6Lx

Quite possibly, but I think the carpet/floormat combo is making it look worse than it actually is.
