V10 Audi S6 on 150k for £4500 risky enough for you?

Re: The ebay thread
Hmm, not bad ! I've had a V10, a diesel, so this would tick off a petrol V10 too*. £4500 is not quite pocket money but it's not "end of the world" if it grenades in a month's time.jamcg wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 9:54 pm https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-detail ... 00&fromsra

But it's only 429bhp which is a big step down from teh Bender. And I had a 2008 Q7 (briefly) before, same era as this, the infotainment system was utterly awful and drove me potty, which was part of the "briefly" ownership experience. And IIRC this model S6 had some awful problem with cylinder heads (?).
And previously on ebay for £4k, no bids:

* but requiring petrol and diesel versions of each engine configuration is going to make my life difficult, so I'm not subscribing to that yet.

Now then. A finished auction but - a V10 - in an estate - with a tow bar - for <£5k - you might have my attention.

Re: The ebay thread
Are you going to sell the Spur for the same reason as the previous owner?
Re: The ebay thread
Valve stem seals I think. Pretty sure someone on here had one that had that problem, when they were relatively new.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 10:22 pm And IIRC this model S6 had some awful problem with cylinder heads (?).

Any replacement has to be suitably sumptuous.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 8:41 pm I’d not noticed how cheap these are now. I’ve had my Bentley near enough a year now and it’s not (financially) killed me. Is it time to sell up and go for another Sundayjumper Risky Bid™ ?
This will do. I know it's probably a bit £pricey, but you do get the brief case too.

Heh. Not quite, I've obviously still got the Cayenne, but having two cars that can tow adds a bit of versatility. Looks like 2100kg capacity. That's enough for moving The Compact.
The blue they came in is nice. I'm not having a black one like jamcg originally posted. Very drug dealer.

Fairy nough, I don't know that an S6 would feel like the right move thoughSundayjumper wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 9:15 amHeh. Not quite, I've obviously still got the Cayenne, but having two cars that can tow adds a bit of versatility. Looks like 2100kg capacity. That's enough for moving The Compact.

I like that. Jobbo interior too.

Well I’ve learnt something new. I thought the difference between .1 and .2 was fired egg vs clear. Didn’t realise they were a different shape.
