Crikey that is young. Didn't even know he was 62 TBH. Quite a character really and he made his shows his own. RIP.

I watched a BBC mockumentary years ago in which Dale Winton ‘married’ Nell McAndrew. Only watched it cos I fancied Nell McAndrew (still do).

I specifically remembered that Dale Winton was really good in the show.

My fiancée used to work in telly and said how lovely he was. Jonathan King, in contrast, was an utter cunt.

Never watched any of his shows but in interviews and what not always came across as a decent chap. RIP

Tragic if Dale did commit suicide. I think from the fact that he was widely regarded as a lovely man, he'd surely not have been short of someone to talk to and look after him.

See your favourite gutter rag. They're not saying it outright, but they're talking a lot about his previous battles with depression, his mum's suicide etc. They're either making it up (inconceivable!) or they know but they can't say until it's officially announced (which happens a lot).

So one report, from the DM. That's not something I'd spread around, true or not.

Hence "seem to be" and "alluding", and it's not just the DM. As someone who has suffered with depression and suicidal thoughts in the past, I'm very firmly of the view that these things should be discussed in the open and not treated as taboo. Even if it wasn't suicide, he himself has publicly discussed his battles with depression in the past so it's not like it's dragging some deep, dark secret into the light.
