I watched a BBC mockumentary years ago in which Dale Winton ‘married’ Nell McAndrew. Only watched it cos I fancied Nell McAndrew (still do).

I specifically remembered that Dale Winton was really good in the show.

Tragic if Dale did commit suicide. I think from the fact that he was widely regarded as a lovely man, he'd surely not have been short of someone to talk to and look after him.

See your favourite gutter rag. They're not saying it outright, but they're talking a lot about his previous battles with depression, his mum's suicide etc. They're either making it up (inconceivable!) or they know but they can't say until it's officially announced (which happens a lot).

Hence "seem to be" and "alluding", and it's not just the DM. As someone who has suffered with depression and suicidal thoughts in the past, I'm very firmly of the view that these things should be discussed in the open and not treated as taboo. Even if it wasn't suicide, he himself has publicly discussed his battles with depression in the past so it's not like it's dragging some deep, dark secret into the light.
