WW1984 pretty disappointing, I liked the first one but the sequel was about an hour too long, directionless and generally self indulgent with some ropey looking SFX thrown in.

Gal Gadot and Oberon Mandalorian couldn't save it.

It's by no means Scorsese's best but it's not his worst either.
I agree, it's not amazing. I didn't sit and watch it all none stop, but had breaks over an evening. It just fizzled and could have been an hour shorter.
After literally months of deliberation I watched this tonight. It’s good but slow and they needed younger actors to pull it off properly. Agree they could have worked an hour out of that.

Richard Jewell

Really rather good if I'm honest. Some really great performances (although Sam Rockwell really does need to vary his performances. Great Actor playing the same role over and again) and despite some weaknesses (Olivia Wilde gunning for him until she takes a stroll to the Payphone - then massive change of heart to the point of tears  ) the overall flow is very good.

Poor chap - he really was destroyed publicly with almost Zero evidence

Watched Tenet last night and it wasn’t great.

The whole inversion thing was stupid, all the backwards moving stuff looked dumb, it looked like a watch advert and Kenneth Branagh was hilariously unconvincing as the villain.

I stuck with it to the end as I like John David Washington and Robert Pattinson. They did the best with what they had but I’m glad I rented it rather than buying.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

Very, very surprising. Not what I expected at all, but definitely one to watch. Some excellent performances, and a good story.

I really enjoyed Richard Jewell but it was pretty depressing to see how his life was ruined.

I think Tenet looked cool and if you've seen Inception, its clear he really wants to make a Bond movie. But the movie itself just made no sense at all.

Must watch Three Bilboards, I've had it sitting in iTunes for months.

Loved Three Billboards, Frances McDormand is always good though.

Watched Peninsula last night. Pretty disappointing tbh. More of a straight up post apocalypse zombie movie than train to busan and it didn’t really do anything interesting.

I really enjoyed it - a pretty good take on the classic disaster movie and very entertaining. Only thing missing was a beloved family dog getting in to peril.

It was OK but it stole pretty heavily from Deep Impact!

I just watched Greenland.

It was a lot more like War of the Worlds rather than Deep Impact.

Really enjoyed it but the ending was unnecessary - it really didn’t need the last bit. Should have faded to black, then gone to credits just before that.

Sort of spoiled it a bit

News of the World

Really enjoyed it. Yes, it’s Tom Hank’s sentimental and lacks the pure grit of some other westerns but it’s beautifully shot, has a lovely score and great performances from what is, for the most part, a 2 actor film.

Greenland, odd disjointed bit of a mess movie. The burd is very strange looking and Butler's acting was kind of terrible.

ive not even been tempted to watch it, as soon as I see Butler in a film I've got a fair idea it will be awful!

Has he been in anything watchable since 300?

(Admittedly he's a voice in How to train your dragon.)

She was thingies wife in Homeland.

I quite liked Greenland. Lots of clichés but still not a normal disaster movie.

Soul I really enjoyed, more than the kids or Mrs did interestingly. Terry voiced by the Policewoman from Hunt for the Wilderpeople was great.

Not quite up there with Coco though.
Watched this tonight. Excellent. And visually stunning. 8-)

I keep meaning to watch Soul. I was reminded last night as we started watching Lupin, and Omar Sy is cast in Soul.

Surely Soul is a "watch with the missus" type film?
