Thankfully, the mates I used to hit it hard with have all remained on my level. We don't see each other much but tend to go away for a weekend together, it usually consists of a hardcore first night then a tired / hungover night with a meal and a couple of quiet drinks. If there's a night three it might be a 75% night.
I have nothing but admiration for your ability to go balls out for an extended period.
Do not waste one's admiration on me - waking up hammered and going "tell you what, few ciders and cranking some tunes out at 11am will sort today" - and then knowing just the people to accompany me - is nothing to be proud of.
But try telling me that at the time

No, but sometimes it's great isn't it!

Be nice - he's quoted me in his sig, that means he is fundamentally a Good Thing.
JL, I feel your pain. for me, the Fear kicks in bigtime around day 4, but I find champagne with breakfast a sure-fire curative.

The clouds have lifted, my life is OK, I've stopped sweating, I have friends and can do stuff again and things are not too bad. So far.
BTW Rob - Dinny has quoted me in his sig. So, y'know.

Jesus, you poor fucker.
As for the Fear - next time, wake up to a bottle of Vilmart and you will find that you are capable of rational thought once again.

One of my friends doesn't like champagne, I just can't comprehend that.
Although they did point out that my increasing love of gin and champagne points to me possibly turning into a tory and being ostracised .

I don’t ‘get’ champagne and didn’t much care for gin, but we went here at the weekend and now I’m rather fond of both. Still no expert on botanicals and all that bollocks though.
