You’ve had a pretty terrible couple of years as a family due to your illness and now hers but you’ve made it this far. Be kind to yourselves and each other.

Re: Marriage
I think January is the most trying time of the year. Maybe when you get some sunlight and warmth life will seem better. GL.

There's a stay of execution until September so I just have to live with a sword of Damocles over my head trying to persuade the thread to transform into a nice, solid chain.

So what’s going to change? If it’s not working now then you both need to change something rather than just waiting it out - otherwise it is just a stay of execution.
Re: Marriage
Not knowing the situation it sound like a mental illness has occurred. Someone is undergoing treatment by the sounds of it, if this is the case it can take a number of months for a treatment plan to be effective and give the party a clear enough head to make a considered decision rather than something rash made with a head not quite thinking right.Rich B wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 2:27 pmPractical Man Logic time.Jimmy Choo wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 1:41 pm There's a stay of execution until September so I just have to live with a sword of Damocles over my head trying to persuade the thread to transform into a nice, solid chain.

If this is the case I wish you both the best as it's not easy.

Rich and Carlos are correct. I've been wrapped up in myself with the aftermath of Graves disease and anxiety. It's worn her out and with her health issues, her tolerance for my navel gazing has been used up.
We reached her breaking point and it was enough to snap me out of taking her for granted.

James it's none of my business but I have to ask about the September deadline. Ignore me or tell me to F O if you like.
Re: Marriage
As they say it takes one to know one. Reading on here you have a number of sounding boards you can use if you want as we all have our own strategies and coping mechanisms. After nearly 17 years of Anxiety bought on by impending responsibility of parenthood I have plenty myself. Feel free to PM me here or on FB if you want to chat. My other half is pretty tolerant of me most of the time but sometimes I need to wind my neck in and it's just recognising this before I jump off the deep end I find I need to do more often.Jimmy Choo wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 3:56 pm Rich and Carlos are correct. Well, bugger. Looks like I'm shopping for a new house.
I'm getting out while we can still be civil. I still really like her but can't be what she needs and she can't be what I need.

Was she called Donna or was that someone else?
Did Jimmy used to be called Gremlin, or was that someone else?
Is Jimmy's wife the one that tried to launch a restaurant in a garden shed?
Yours confused of Sussex.
