Nice watch. It's a good choice, usually all the stabbings in London are over a Rolex, never heard of anyone killed for an Omega.
Somehow Rolex is the watch choice of gangsters now

Or I could just be trying to justify buying another watch that I don't really need :)

OK fair enough šŸ‘šŸ¼šŸ˜‚
well my IWC-a-like (not intentional) was in need of some love, wearing it every day the glass has a big chip and the battery had died. So I decided to do the sensible thing.... and buy another. (Ā£76+Ā£10 p+p)

I got one with a metal strap, which I then decided I didn't like, so stuck the old strap back on it (which is a surprisingly nice quality German thing) to basically end up with the exact same watch but nice and new.

Perfect!

A metal strap is a bracelet @Rich B . In the same way you would differentiate a mallet from a hammer. šŸ™‚

Thank God I live in Derby then... Never thought I hear myself saying that. ;)

Having had it fully serviced a little while ago, I thought I'd start wearing my Omega Seamaster again

It's "only" the 36mm one, so feels quite odd having been wearing 40mm watches for a long time

But it feels great to have it on again

Popped into a watch dealer today to have the strap adjusted and it caused quite a stir - he was insistent that I took his card and he asked that I'd let him know if I thought of selling it

Checked their values online when I got home and they seem to list at over Ā£2000 now (with box, papers etc as mine is)

I've got a 38mm "baby" Dreadnought and it does feel quite small. Silly really when comparing it to what used to be a normal size for a watch although smaller stuff does seem to be returning to favour IMO.

Stumbled across this micro-brand today: https://bnd-watches.com/product/mnbla/?lang=en

They make a lovely looking, old-style diver:

Very tempted (by the looks)

400 Euros for a Seiko NH35 seems expensive though...

Not really my preferred aesthetic, but the flying buttress lugs look well cool . I bet they're a dirt trap though!

Been interested in hand wind watches for a while now, but I don't know whether it is a case of liking the idea of one over the reality, so before getting something nicer I decided to get something cheap to give it a try. Got this slightly scruffy old 1969 Timex off ebay, so far it's keeping good time (so presume it must have a had a service a some point) and I'm actually quite taken with it.

Let's see how it goes. :-D
