The Watches Thread
Re: The Watches Thread
I do like the look of those. Might get one once they come out proper.
Re: The Watches Thread
The last time I bought an Omega with a quartz movement it cost me £50 from a chap named Sajid in some dodgy backstreet in Dubai But it was all metal!
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: The Watches Thread
You’re right - it’s expensive for a Swatch. But clearly good value to many people.
Re: The Watches Thread
Yeah, value is entirely subjective
Makes those £50 Pagani Daytona 'homages' (etc) look like conspicuously good value though: full stainless construction, sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel, Oyster bracelet with glidelock clasp etc
Actually, I might dig one out now (I've been wearing that 36mm San Martin almost exclusively since I got it - it's a properly good watch!)

Re: The Watches Thread
I like some of them, but then I quite like normal swatches. Worth remembering that even the cheap basic ones are £60 these days, so £200 for a ‘premium’ one isn’t daft.
However I wouldn’t queue for hours for one or pay a daft amount to a scalper.

Yeah, fair point, they look nice in the pictures, but maybe they feel horrible to handle. I'm a bit of a space nerd though so the theme is appealing.
Re: The Watches Thread
Let's not beat around the bush. It's an omega that costs £200. That all anyone really cares about.
Re: The Watches Thread
It has an Omega logo on it but it’s a Swatch which looks like an Omega.

Re: The Watches Thread
Seems to be.
Just seen a Facebook post showing the pigment in the bioceramic staining the back of someone’s wrist

Yes it's a fact that Pigs can cause terrible staining. Ask a farmer.
Re: The Watches Thread
True to the original though….
Re: The Watches Thread
I'd seen the speculation about a new Rolex GMT-II in green and black, but didn't expect it to be a LHD:
But that looks utterly awful, like you've put your watch on upside down, due to the date on the left. If they had left the date on the right (no effort at all, just use a normal GMT-II face since that has the cut-out for the date on the right) it would have looked OK (ish - as much as a LHD can look OK). Oh dear.

Here's one they made earlier without the bi-colour bezel:
Re: The Watches Thread
Ewww - it’s shizzle like that which made people vote Brexit.
Re: The Watches Thread
It's a left handed version, sir
No it's not, it's just a right handed one, upside down
Oh no sir, this is a special new Rolex orientation known as Oysterentation™
