Teh Spotted Thread
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
I visited a classic car show yesterday at Capesthorne Hall near Macclesfield, lots of nice stuff there obviously but this old Roller caught my eye.
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
I don't know whether they were cruising in track mode, but it looked incredibly low to the ground.mik wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 10:33 am @duncs500 I think they nailed the visuals on the P1 - particularly when you see it beside the Senna….
(Edit: and I just went looking for an image of the two side by side and got distracted by some performance figures - P1 does 0-150mph in 10.6seconds…. Which is about 0.4seconds slower than the Evora gets to 100 )
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
Saw a Lynk & Co. No idea wtf it was but it was helpfully branded. Its a rebranded Geely thing which you can subscribe to apparently. Filling that niche for people who don't want to hire, or lease, or PCP, or buy but just want a car on a month by month basis.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
Chris Harris’s M5 CS parked on a side street in Cheltenham. The green/gold combo really works!
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
I haven’t seen a 12C in a few years so a pleasant surprise to see one
I reckon it’s still the best modern looking McLaren and it’s positively tiny these days. They got the design bang on then just kept fiddling with it ever since giving all the newer cars that gurning smile.

Re: Teh Spotted Thread
I know this doesn't count cos it was at a car show but I don't care as it was CAF.
1978 Mk1 Subaru Brat, the guy who owned it had one when he was eighteen and had been trying to find the perfect one for many years. Lucky for him he imports trucks for a living and one of his mates in NZ(!) found this one on a chicken farm. A mess but it was solid. Got a container and brought it home. Four year restoration and obviously finding parts was a nightmare. Guy told a good yarn and had clearly spent hundreds of hours on every inch of it He reckoned there are eight Mk1's on the road in the UK. I can't even remember the last time I saw a Mk2 Brat never mind a Mk1, but used to see them everywhere in the early nineties. Obviously the hard work on farms killed em off!

Re: Teh Spotted Thread
A fairly decent looking C4 A6 2.8 on the A20 today. I learnt to drive in a more pedestrian 1.8 and remember it being a huge barge (it was the estate). It looked tiny compared to everything else. Older gent behind the wheel, didn't have time to check for driving gloves.

You don’t often see these on the street -
It gets regularly used as it’s always parked in a different spot. This has a lovely 4D gel rear plate… The driver/bodyguard of the apartment that it’s next to drives one of those £150-200k black taxis from Clive Sutton and gets very touchy/aggressive when you hang around outside!

I think that's stunning from the front but my eyes can't un-see how long the rear-end is which makes it look out of proportion, or maybe just not what I'm expected from a car that looks like that at the front.
Cheers,
Mike.

I think he's wrapped his M2 CS in that colour too as its also got the gold alloys.

Re: Teh Spotted Thread
I reckon it needs a roof chop to even out the proportions. It's got a popemobile vibe with the current roofline.
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
Second one is definitely better. I think its because from the front it looks like an American Muscle Car, but less so from the back and with that high roofline.
Cheers,
Mike.

My mate’s Dad had one, same colour. Can’t remember what engine it had but he made it go pretty quick!
