With masked Antifa protesters resorting to violence and destruction you do wonder, an unmasked woman who didn't seem to be part of a mob you could say the reaction was a bit over the top with hindsight. However if someone in that position you won't always get chance to rationalise before reacting and as he would certainly be aware of Antifa and their actions adrenaline will probably have kicked in and he was in the fight or flight thought mode, which as there was no where to run he went for fight.

He didn't escort her from the premises. He forcefully threw her into a wall and then grabbed her by the neck, all in anger (not fear as he claimed). He wouldn't have done it to a bloke. The guy is scum.
No doubt you'll respond with "it wasn't real violence", "she could've been carrying acid/a knife/a nuclear bomb" or some other such bullshit to try and justify what he did. But it is just bullshit to try and get him off the hook because he's "on your side". Because all of this is tribal bollocks and nothing to do with common sense, or decency, or logic. It's simply my team vs your team.

I got bored of arguing in circles with nuggets on PH about this.
The guy was heavily out of line, he lashed out because he was annoyed by the woman. He didn’t feel threatened and he wasn’t heroically putting himself on the line to protect the more senior ministers.
The only take away I can see so far is that the conservatives and their cheerleaders are succeeding in their attempts to paint any sort of direct action protest as violent and dangerous.
