Which 1080ti

I'm now thinking seriously about upgrading my GTX680 to a 1080ti but there seems to be a million different versions of essentially the same thing, and prices are varying wildly.
What's the scoop fellas? What should I buy?

If I were you I'd wait till the 1180/2080 (not sure what it's gonna be called) as that's due soon and, as per the previous iterations, deliver 'ti' performance in the regular version. If you really need it now then I always buy EVGA SC cards (and if the 1180/2080 comes out soon you may be able to use their 'step-up' program to get one).

You can't go wrong there. FTW versions are usually binned better than SC. No size limitations in your case? That's taller than a normal PCI-E card (the reason I go for SC is that they're not so tall and I have a fan over my PCI-E cards)

It arrived yesterday. I am pleased with my purchase. I almost certainly won’t buy another one for 5 years or so so I’m not fussed what else is imminent.
Could do with upgrading my cpu now though.

Well, yes, just curious whether you need a pretty high end setup to take advantage of an expensive card, or whether the card itself does the bulk of the work and will still make a noticeable improvement to a more midrange setup.

It depends, I enjoy flying around in Lockheed Martin's Prepar3d flight sim, and it makes a fair old difference to that but it is still CPU intensive, which my 6 year old i7 copes with just about. Project Cars 2 by contrast is all graphics card, and that goes like the clappers now with everything turned up to 11.
I'm really tempted by an Oculus Rift now, which really does need to a top end graphics card as I understand it.

Oh goodie, another P3D user. I've been messing with this stuff since FS98, through FSX then P3D v1 through v4. Have spent far too much on addons and time on it all! What do you fly?

Mostly the A2A Simulations C182 and Commanche 250.
