I'm sure a lot of far more recent cars would struggle 30-50 in top.
What engine size would the Mini have been?
Pretty sure the standard mini was still an 850cc in ‘69

Watching an old Top Gear episode, well more like it’s on the in the background and it’s the episode where they drive a 190E and Sierra Cosworth and upload it to YouTube to see who gets the most views. Curiosity got the better of me and I’m pleasantly surprised to see that they did actually upload it

Clarkson’s effort is mildly amusing.

Residential road was really the best location you could think of for this? :?

Edit: poster has now deleted their video (of them accelerating their new 992 TurboS to 93mph in a residential area).

Would it even be close ? Start late morning and we’d be home for tea & crumpets by 4pm.

Depends - if everyone was drinking American Bud we'd all be in the loos all day and not even getting drunk. So probably a draw.

The numbers are pretty laughable today - only one capable of breaking the 75mph vmax barrier, but the brake fade test is just nuts - a 0.5g stop from approx 55mph, performed 20 times, but with 1 minute intervals between each stop!

8-) I'll take that as comparable for the '65 I had.
Wrt to how far we've moved on, the 1.2 petrol Panda 4X4's 0-60 is 20s.
