awesome, but would you ever actually use it? I'd be up for it, then my missus would fret about packing everything we'd ever need for any situation, then by the time she'd got it all together it would be about lunchtime on Saturday and we'd can the whole thing and unpack!

Course you would! If you have a camper or a caravan you have it packed with 98% of the shizzle at all times. All you’d need to think about packing would be your RUGGED OUTDOOR WEAR and COMBAT RATIONS and you’d be good to go.
I was impressed to see it is a 3.0 diesel - until I saw it only has 188bhp. The one we hired was a 160bhp 1.9 4-walloper.

Must put out a good amount more power with a map? Usually the vans are held back so they do a million miles without servicing.

Yes (that's why I like ), but I've only got me to think about. Even if I only had it for one (admittedly fairly epic) trip to places where the awd and ground clearance are needed it'd do for me. Heck, it might even go through Rufford... There may be a clause in the comp. that says that, as a sinle person, I have to state I'll live off-grid in it.
It's a pity it doesn't have a departure angle like this, but it is a bit smaller;

Someone stopped overnight here in their camper earlier in the year, so I had a look for next time I go that way. A nice place, but Streetview brings more want than just the roadtrip and weather; https://www.google.com/maps/@58.1151073 ... 384!8i8192

Yeah, I was disappointed in that. The fact that the people trying to hold it down were struggling so much nearly made up for it though.

probably NSFW, but more amusing than I was expecting.
