When in Scotchland - you must try plain bread. I have mentioned this previously….
I hated it as a kid - it wasn’t favoured in our house, and I only ever had any when I went to places like my grand, or some mates houses. Dense. Heavy. Good way to ruin a sandwich.
These qualities however make it simply epic to toast. Takes around twice as long as pan bread, but the reward is fabulously crispy toast, with the inside still soft - the heat making it feel lighter too.
We buy one now and again - exclusively for toasting. The only problem being that the dogs love a crust, so I am regularly denied one of the best bits….

Reminds me, I saw a 328 with the roof off a couple of days back (and a Dodge van like t'ebay thread, never seen one in the reals before).
