I was once standing in our kitchen looking out of the open door at the torrential rain when there was a lightning strike around 40ft away, the bang is like nothing I've ever heard and you could feel the static electricity in the air. Not something I want to repeat.

I lost a friend to a direct hit. He was dead before he hit the ground...

Quick but nasty way to go...

I'm still not right after it - I used to love a good Lighting Storm but now I feel the anxiety build along with the air tension.

I lost 3 people close to me in violent accidents in the space of a year (Lightening Strike, Small Plane Crashed into side of Mountain and horrific Car Accident) which I'll be honest, I haven't properly dealt with.

He can't have been a bad chap or you wouldn't have fond memories, and if getting hit by lightning merely met the standard set by the rest of it I can imagine!
