Randomness

Why not kick off a random stuff thread with a wrongly oriented video of my cat drinking from a running tap.

If you want your mind blown get a glass of water and have your cat/dog drink from it and film it in slow motion. They turn their tongues into a ladle!
How about not having a sig at all?

We got Maya one of those cat water fountains for the corner of the lounge for this very reason. She now drinks much more water than she ever did from her bowl.

Yeah we got a fountain for our cats as well, they much prefer drinking from a moving water source. An evolutionary thing to be wary of standing water apparently.
An absolute unit

What you need is a bowl left outside to fill up whenever it rains, and develop into its own ecosystem. They love that. Must be tasty or summat.

Yep - Phoebe is a tap-drinker as well, flat-out refuses to drink from the water bowl because cat.

I got her one of those things as well as I thought it would replicate the running tap.

She just looked at me like I'm a mumbloid and went to go sit in the sink for me to turn the tap on.

I had no idea Meesta was a tap drinker until I spotted him in the sink, waiting, last Saturday. I even asked my fiancee if she'd put him there, but he was simply waiting for the tap to be turned on.

ETA: the other two cats like to drink from the toilet bowl in the bathroom. Because, cats.

If I put my cats in the sink they would rip my face off. I had to wash Lilly a few times after we let her hair get too long and the look of sorrow was too much to bare.

George had oil on his back so we tried the same, he literally turned into a Tasmanian Devil and bolted.

Those water fountains are really good but the dog empties it in 2 minutes and the kids see it as a toy so it always ended up with a toy or lego in it. Back to the bowl.

Before we had to have him put down last August, our cat would drink from a bowl, but only via his paw, which he’d dip in the water and then lick dry. Vet was perplexed :)
