If the regs say you can't be shown TV whilst driving then no-way will they allow ads to be served either. Screw Ford and their stupid patent.

Won’t be an issue for Autonomous Driving mode though, will it??

That seems like a clever, forward thinking patent. As your Ford drives you along the high street, shops and business you pass can advertise to you with convenient links booking etc

That's decades away though. How long is a patent valid for?

That'll put me off AD cars (and probably many others). What an awful idea.

I joked that Tesla would start running ads through the screen on their cars a wee while ago and instantly realised it was definitely coming. Because the world is a capitalist nightmare

I can't wait to get three months of adverts for cheap coffins after being geotagged to a funeral home for a death in the family.

I remember someone suggesting that some previous bit of tech (maybe google glasses w augmented reality) would let businesses advertise and promote special deals to people as they walked past their stores. Finally time for that idea to shine.

Feck all that advertising malarkey, though commercial radio has always been a pita anyway.

Anyone notice the new Seat Ibiza Feel the Beat advert - Blatant rip-off of Flat Eric or more of a homage ??

Hmmm - “homage” is generous.

And no opportunity to post the original should ever be missed. 😎

I love this simple video

I long wondered about getting my pilots license years ago. Not that I need another hobby that I don't really have time for, planes generally terrify me AND it's an enormous financial commitment to keep up your flying hours every year, I did love the trial lesson I did a few years back out of Shoreham, and it would be wicked to put on my CV that I had a PPL. My local aerodrome is only 10 minutes away (no, not Gatwick!), and my wife supports me in pretty much anything I want to do.

The closest airfield to me is the shortest in the UK, a great place to learn I’m sure

Yep the same, I will take great joy in the future when I jump in my car without my phone and drive around genuinely free.

Car companies advertising, tracking and generally involving themselves in my life can fuck off. A car is a tool like a spoon, not a way to intrude.

Dave!
