After getting back from my honeymoon at 5.30pm last night and being somewhat jet-lagged, I’ve managed to give back my Audi and receive the replacement before lunchtime.
And here it is:

Are there rainbow sparkles in the paint?
Lower left of the interior shot has some fairy dust going on.

Congrats Jobbo. It's massive, did you hold the reception in the back?

There are sparkles in the paint - it’s like BMW sapphire black.
It’s not as long as a Stagea; I saw Ed’s at Flewy’s a couple of weeks ago so I know exactly how long they are. Amazingly it’s smaller in every dimension than the A6; it’s bigger inside, I guess due to the bonnet not needing to accommodate anything bigger than an in-line 4 mounted transversely.
I wasn’t specifically after a diesel; I didn’t really want a less powerful car after the Audi so the D5 version wouldn’t cut it. This has 310bhp and both a supercharger and a turbo; first supercharged car I’ve had. It’s got very decent throttle response, the gearing is low enough for it to feel nippy off the line and it makes a typically Volvo sort of hollow noise when you rev it - just a shame it’s not a 5-cyl. Doing about 27mpg so far which is fine.
It’s rather nice to drive; the steering is well weighted (not too light or too heavy as the Audi’s settings let you choose) and it feels like you can throw it around. I wasn’t intending to bring it to the meet next month but actually that’s not at all a mad idea!

Looks very nice, Simon. Amazing how rakish these look compared to previous generations.

Can we have a collection and PPF application video please?
Looks great, I've always had a soft spot for Volvos, the new ones are very striking and have a unique "design language"
PS: looks like you need a lawn mower...

Speaking of electrically operated garden equipment - I think I win idiot of the week award for this:
House circuit breakers works well at least

I've done that! Just disassemble the trimmer and re-attach the (now shorter) cable into it.

Yep - hopefully shouldn't be too difficult, though it did go with a poof of smoke - hopefully that was just the insulation on the cable melting when it short circuited rather than a fuse inside the casing.

Amazing how much the garden grew while we were away! I have just finished doing it (all with the mower - Honda Izys are great). Hedges next weekend.

My Mrs had done that enough times that the cable left was about a foot long. Eventually I had to rob the cable off something else we were throwing out.
Funnily enough every time I use them I'm constantly reminded to watch the cable but have never managed to cut through it

Yep everything is in full mental summer mode - even in London with merely an extended patio masquerading as a garden things seem to need trimming back every couple of weeks.

I did that yesterday with the same results. I placed it on the floor before it had completely stopped and it just caught the cable. As suggested cable redone.
