I saw a video in my recommendation last night where Playground Games were talking through some of the new stuff. Looks like it's returning to the wrist bands approach from the earlier games, which control what cars you can race etc. So probably a bit more progression based than some of the recent games. Some of the things sounded a bit like the old TDU and GTA 5 online approach of building up your own garage and designing it etc. No idea if that's a good addition or not, but I guess we'll see.
I'm glad it's coming earlier in the year. Horizon 5 has been stale for a long time now and I'd given up on Motorsport not long after it came out.
Edit - It was on IGN:

Looks great, I hope it’s decent and they’ve listened to the criticism of the last couple of games.
I just thought horizon 5 was a bit average. Should have been better than 4, probably is in every measurable way, just didn’t enjoy it that much.
The last motorsport was immensely disappointing, I don’t think I ever put more than a few hours on it. Again, a shame as I’ve probably spent an embarrassing amount of time on nearly all of the previous versions.

Everything since the UK based Horizon has been shit. Think I stopped with the last Motorsport after a week. At least it’s all on game pass so no real money was wasted.
I love Japan but I’m refraining from getting too excited.

Motorsport was terrible. Everything just understeers. Wheel support was terrible as well. No feel through the wheel.
Ive never really enjoyed any of the Horizon games. I just didn't feel they had any online appeal.

Motorsport was that rubbish I actually bought a PS5 and GT7.
I'll probably wait until this comes to PS5 as I prefer my Thrust master wheel on the PS to the Logitech one on the Xbox.

Ah, I thought the understeer was my driving!

Just got the premium edition on Loaded for £73. Please don’t be shit
As long as you have 16gb VRAM if you want it to look nice and pretty, oof.

Initial impressions are it’s quite good. Very much an arcade game so I don’t think it would suit a wheel, cars drift as soon as you turn. I tried a wheel with Horizon many years ago and it wasn’t great. It does look pretty last gen on my Xbox Series X, the cars and city look good but it falls apart in the green countryside with all the vegetation. I left it on 30fps graphics mode rather than performance. Doesn’t really bother me on a controller sitting 12 feet away from a tv…
I wouldn’t give it a 10 but I’m an old man now, I can’t be bothered customising my character or my house or doing a million of the little random side quests or the perks stuff

I’m sure I’ll give it a go.
Absolutely loved 4, was always a bit dissapointed with 5, didn’t really look any better, still reusing lots of old and not very good car models.
Will be cool having another one where you drive on the proper side.
Horizon has always been about fun rather than sim, but there’s a decent physics engine behind it. They’ve all felt great with a pad, never felt I was missing out by not using a wheel.
I’m not expecting an every option to ultra experience, but hopefully I’ll be able to get a decent result with my setup...

The thing I hate with all the Forza games on a gamepad is their traction control system. All the very high power stuff is undriveable on a gamepad without it, but turn it on and it’s non existent at low speeds and too intrusive at high speeds, acting more like stability control. Just give me an adjustable slider like Gran Turismo. Just makes all the high powered stuff annoying to drive.

“Ps5 players will get horizon 6 at a later date”
That’s all they’ve said for now, no actual dates announced

I'd totally forgotten this was coming out, having not had any time for gaming recently but my YouTube feed was flooded with videos over the last few days saying how amazing it was and it does look pretty amazing.
Not sure anything will top Project Gotham, but I can see me ordering this today.

Yeah, much as though I'm whinging about the VRAM usage if you want the pretty pretty effects, everything I hear about it is positive, assuming you're OK with the cringe that is the storylines and cutscenes, etc.
