Your £140k track car

2025.

Nearly Christmas.

A wealthy benefactor is gifting you a track car for Christmas. No more than £140k. Has to be an example available for sale TODAY - for salez on one of teh car selling websites, and not something you get built to order (sorry Dan).

Mr Benny Factor is stipulating that it must be a track-car. To be used for fun. On track. You might drive it very occasionally on-road, but it must be primarily a track toy. You're going to do lots of track days in 2026. They've already booked them all for you. First one is on 31-Dec-25 FFS. All non-refundable mate. If you don't attend every one they take the car back.

Car can't be less than £110k - Benny won't accept you spending £20k on a boosted track-built MX5 and the rest on coke n hookerz.

My suggestions - probably in order of daydreaming.

1. BAC Mono. Blisteringly quick. Hyper-focussed. Weapon. Too quick/extreme? Spend the whole day waiting for others to let you past?

2. 600LT. Still extremely quick. Rather better weather protection than the BAC. Can scare a mate too.

3. 718 Cayman GT4RS. You'll get tired of lapping before it does.

The cheapest 992 GT3 is about £145k on Auto Trader. I bet there's some negotiation room for a deal at this time of year so I think you'd find a selection available below £140k.

If that's against the rules then a lightly used 991 GT3 thanks.

Is the wealthy benefactor paying for maintenance? I don't want to be forking out for a set of carbon ceramic brakes every few trackdays

Everything except fuel & tyres until 23:59 on 31-Dec-26. So you need not worry your little noggin about that.

Since im paying for fuel and tyres Ive spoken to Arnold Clark from the grave and he promises that he will sell me from stock an Alpine A110R R70 Blanc Edition for £116k https://www.alpine-cars.co.uk/range/veh ... HqLUW4rRRg

Ive also spoken to Steve from james glen who has promised to sell me his M4 GTS for £110k. Which ive driven and is fucking fantastic.

However if you MUST hold us to the £110 min mark then a litchfield fettled 600LT ticks many many boxes. Needs to be papaya.

ETA - Actually no.

https://www.racecarsdirect.com/Advert/D ... e-a110-gt4 and its road legal.

See - its on a road and everything.

I'd want a proper GT3, I already have the trailer to transport it and this one is quite close

So they're gonna cost me several grand a year?

Tell Benny to go fuck his hat.

And if he's not got a hat, buy a hat for between £110 and £140, no Sports Direct Specials - and then go fuck it.

However, if we *must*, then how about an Aston Vantage, just to annoy the AMUK fanboys club.

"My car is tucked away under it's velvet blanket in the air conditioned garage, as it always is from late August to late May 🥺"

"My Vantage is covered in stone chips and mud from chasing a supercharged Exige down Craner, misjudging traction and going backwards at 100mph to the old hairpin. Might wash that off sometime in March. No point repainting the chips though, waste of time given it'll just get more next week"

I can't be arsed linking from the phone, but there's a £115k Vantage on AT, that'll do.

You don't stipulate that it has to be driven on road so I went straight to Racecars Direct.

Special mention to the wheels on this one:

Can't wait to take this bad boy out on a winter trackday next week with no previous experience in a single seater, what could go wrong

Only slightly more sane and approachable. Putting a number plate on it is maybe possible too...

I’ll solve your single seater issue. You can’t take that on a trackday. Open wheels are banned.

Easy one for me as I've daydreamed about this for years.

A 190 seam welded, fully integrated cage, pneumatic jacks and fancy suspension, big steel brakes and a sensible exhaust. The inlet will be all about the noise. Not crazy geometry as a numbnut will be the driver, a lot of more focused track cars would be lost on me.

A K20 engine at whatever power level will be reliable with just basic maintenance and a standard 6 speed H pattern gearbox.

Evo 2 body kit and the livery below....

I see a real one semi regularly and it just looks cooler with each visit.

Dave!

Benny wishes to know on which car selling website would he view this lovely item for sale today?

I mean if we’re ignoring the rules I’ll obviously pick my car, it’s faster than a bac in a straight line and you can take your pals with you as it’s got two seats. Perfect.

It's a secret website where my pal Nitrous Mike will build it for me if I just sign the cheque. Delayed delivery but still counts, yessireey.
