Retain the functionality of keyless entry whilst preventing signal boost attacks.

I think some keys do this already (mine does) but it's certainly a good idea for keys that don't

A hundred quid  I bet they're made in china for £2.50.

Good idea though.

Using the official 1-wheeliebin-jetwash sleep cycle test (although IRL you may be find that reduces to something more like 108 jetwashes per 103 wheeliebins - if you are lucky)

Whey aye man they seem to proper wurk like?

One slight issue in the FAQ: https://www.sleepingbattery.com/en/freq ... questions/

"Do not keep the key in your pocket"

Surely most people do keep their car key in their pocket  If you do and you now have to avoid doing so, you're going to lose it at some point.

Yeah I guess the motion sensing gubbins takes up space that would normally be battery : has to reduce the capacity - unless you allow it to go into sleepy mode.

How happy would you be shelling out another £95 when your button cell runs out though? 😬

You’re meant to change them yearly. Would add up pretty quick on a few cars.

Yep. (Price is a bit of a piss-rip imho, although I accept it could be argued that it's still rather good value to retain the useability of keyless entry, whilst effectively eliminating a common theft method. If insurance companies were to offer a discount for their fitment (as it also reduces their risk enormously) it might become a no-brainer).

Someone should invent a fob that self charges when you put it in the car, and doesn't emit a signal unless pressed. Might mean no keyless though...

Would be handy if they included a little slot to store it in while it was in the car being charged too. Doubt it would ever catch on though.

Yeah, it would stop it from rattling around in the centre console or taking up space in one's jeans pocket.
