Surely most people do keep their car key in their pocket If you do and you now have to avoid doing so, you're going to lose it at some point.

Yeah I guess the motion sensing gubbins takes up space that would normally be battery : has to reduce the capacity - unless you allow it to go into sleepy mode.

You’re meant to change them yearly. Would add up pretty quick on a few cars.

Yep. (Price is a bit of a piss-rip imho, although I accept it could be argued that it's still rather good value to retain the useability of keyless entry, whilst effectively eliminating a common theft method. If insurance companies were to offer a discount for their fitment (as it also reduces their risk enormously) it might become a no-brainer).

Someone should invent a fob that self charges when you put it in the car, and doesn't emit a signal unless pressed. Might mean no keyless though...

Would be handy if they included a little slot to store it in while it was in the car being charged too. Doubt it would ever catch on though.

Yeah, it would stop it from rattling around in the centre console or taking up space in one's jeans pocket.
