I don’t know if it’s just me getting towards being a grumpy old fucker, but it’s pissing me off calling it Black Friday when you’re just putting something on sale for the whole of fucking November, what happened to it just been one day??

Capitalism, marketing, FOMO, gullubility......all that.

People love all this shit. Hear people at work talking about it now. "I'll wait until black Friday week" when the fact is most of it has already been on sale at that price, and will be again.

Must be a false economy for the retailers though. They shaft themselves in Q3 as everyone just waits for Black Friday.

I mean we already have Black History Month in October, now Black Friday is the whole of November too

I just wanted to post this further example of the fervour of the public about nothing in particular :D

I haven't scrolled past the headline there, but I wonder if everyone in the queue looks like a potato?

The shop opened yesterday - aka Wednesday.

I have to assume that the majority of the queue loons don't have jobs, as I don't want to believe that anyone would take a days holiday for a baked tottie? :?

Also - isn't this just SpudulikeGenZ? :?

Yes Mik, but have you seen the popularity of Spudman in Tamworth? Baked potato van viral sensation. Glad my local takeaways haven’t gone viral so I don’t have to stand in a mile long queue for a kebab 😄

There's a baked potato place next to my local chinese - I've never got around to trying it. Never seen an hour long queue outside it either.

That said, a takeaway baked potato sounds pretty fuckin' good to me.

It surprises me every year that folk still think BF is somehow bargains. Like Prime day or whatever, mugs game.

I look at the price before, wait for sale, confirm it was the same price before and regret not buying it earlier :D

I have actually saved some dollars on a cambelt kit today
Fair enough I haven't looked back at their prices but shopping around it's a sizeable chunk cheaper. It's taken the edge off of a distress purchase nicely.
I'd still say BF & sales are by and large bollocks though.

"The thing is, I really love a right good jacket spud with all the filling in, so I thought, why not?"
Sharna, who was hoping to purchase a potato filled with cheese, beans and tuna, remembers the first time she saw them on TikTok.
"I thought they looked banging," she says.

Tell me that one time you were in the public eye. Well, I once wanted to buy a jacket potato with cheese, beans and tuna...

"I caught three buses and a train to get here,"

If there’s any food that would compel me to get three buses and a train to get to it, it wouldn’t be a jacket potato.
