I even turned my VPN and adblock off.

Oh well, my life is doomed to become about 20% more productive now.

I’ve been using my tv to watch the YouTube goodwood livestream and it’s a terrible experience.
Keeps asking me to sign in every 15 minutes - just fvck off.
Ads every 5-10 minutes. Some ads are a minute long.

Yeah, it's their attempt to defeat adblockers.

And the best way to defeat adblockers is definitely to make your service objectively worse, ad more ads, etc.

Rumours abound they're going to add a Youtube Premium Premium, and regular Youtube Premium will start getting ads in it (in shorts and music).

My experience is a few hard refreshes gets the videos loading again.

I got a badge at the fringe that says "I am not a robot" but I am not sure that will help to log in.

Yeah YouTube got me when they offered me a free month of premium. I've tried the 7.99 version now and it's alright.

It was Ebay that put me in the confirm your password, send a code to your phone, identify things that weigh less than a car madhouse this afternoon. I just wanted to sell my car on their platform and they banned me for 24hrs because of too many incorrect passwords. That were of course actually correct. Late stage capitalism sucks. This is the moaning forum, isn't it? Good.

PS buy my 2008 Yaris diesel, it's supremely sensible and 2 grand.
