The question for me is, is the pool of customers for practical, tactile and roadable hypercars so small that only GMA can survive, or are the other manufacturers missing a trick?

The sales of Singer and restromods in general indicate maybe the later although given the stellar profitability of Ferrari you described maybe they know their business?

Money no object, I'd like "An Ferrari", at least for a while but I can't imagine keeping it longer term.

None of the current crop would really interest me at all and my 10 car garage would going to be filled with older cars and modified cars the likes of the Singers of this world.

As for a boot/trunk, I'm intending to courier my luggage to the hotel ahead of any trip.

Worrying about the practicalities of a $2mil supercar seems a bit redundant tbh.

I’d love to be in the position for it to be a problem though

Interesting hypothetical (until my lotto numbers come up) are there ten new cars on sale today desirable enough to fill the dream sports/soupercar garage to the exclusion of restomods/classics?

2. Pagani Utopia (or anothernothernother special final last ever definitelynthis time edition Zonda)

It's actually the opposite. When you have an asset of that value, you want to be able to use it in a variety of situations.

I started watching the Chris Harris vid on the Valkyrie. Had to turn it off as the engine just sounded awful.

Hopefully it sounds much better in real life.

On one trip to the Nurburgring many years ago, before it opened for Tourist laps, there was a Ferrari 599 FXX going round. Dear lord the V12 in that sounded magnificent.

It's actually the opposite. When you have an asset of that value, you want to be able to use it in a variety of situations.

It’s not really my market but I’d guess that if you wanted a super exclusive GT with a Ferrari V12 and had 7 figures to spend there are options outside of the manufacturer.

I’ve always understood the limited run hypercar to be a way for manufacturers to crowd fund development so I’d expect the cars to be bleeding edge tech, not usually associated with practicalities.

Ear piercing whine (everyone's favourite noise from EVs) from the straight cut gears and no rubber between power train and chassis. Not a compromise I'd make but plenty of customers disagree.

IRRC Aston benchmarked an F50 for the noise of Valkyrie amongst others. I was extremely envious of my noise colleagues across the road at Gaydon that week.

I remember a PH Sunday service at Silverstone years ago with a handful of FXX and 5XX running flat out and the noise was heaven.

Maybe I'll have to try and watch some of the vid again. To me, it sounded like a shit sounding engine, rather than straight cut gears
