Anyway, need one. Tired of manually pumping. Do I need to buy a ring one or is any sub £30 Chinese brand ok?

As my battery drill, multitool and other things are Milwaukee, I bought one of these when it was on sale:
It's much better than any other battery or lighter socket inflator that I've previously owned.
I think other power tool brands do similar tyre inflators, which go with the battery system they use, so worth looking into that.
Otherwise, I bought a cheap compact battery inflator from Lidl for my motorbike, it fits in one of the toolboxes on my motorbike (Think it was £16.99) and can inflate car tyres, but I doubt it has capacity to pump up a fully flat large car tyre.
How often are people pumping that it's too much and you need an electric one? And for what reason?
I've had some come with the cars, but never used them. They're incredibly noisy, and unless the tyre is completely flat (usually for a reason that a pump won't fix anyway) it's usually only a few PSI to fix an odd tyre with a slow leak and a foot one will do it.

Every couple of weeks on the Yeti. It had 2 slow punctures.
Your comment reminds me though,- I think there is one in the Merc boot.

I've got a Bosch battery one for quick top ups, but still use the twin chamber foot pump for bigger jobs, as it's just quicker

I’ve got about four or five. The Ring one works well but is utterly infuriating because you have to screw the hose onto the valve and lose more air than the traditional fitting taking it off. And the plastic case is fragile.
Matt, I like to check my tyre pressures at home before they’re warmed up. If they need adjusting I can do it at home too. I’d have thought everyone on this forum would already do this? You can use them to pump up from quite low too, or re-inflate after a self-fixed puncture. Cheap and I’d not be without one.

I’ve got makita power tools, but the makita inflator was too expensive to justify for when I’d use it, so bought a cheap ryobi one, along with a makita to ryobi battery adaptor

I mentioned it previously, but can’t find it. I got one of these about a year ago as I was fed up with decent quality not cheap double barrel foot pumps dying on me, and most of my power tools are DeWalt.
It’s great. Very easy to use without any power cable, and unsurprisingly with 18V it’s a lot faster than any plug-in 12V pump I have used.
Took it to Anglesey last year and used it on half a dozen cars throughout the day to make adjustments and to reinflate for return to the road at the end of the day once they’d all cooled down. Didn’t need the spare battery I’d brought along.

Miks recommended Sealey (I think) mechanical gauge, Makita for the cars, a proper T-Maxx one for the Landy tyres.

At the time the makita inflators were over £100. They’ve come down a lot to £60 ish, where the ryobia one has always been about £40ish. I mainly use it at work for pressurising expansion vessels rather than tyres, but it does van tyres no problem so can’t complain about it. Ryobi drills are still shit though

They're not as cheap as I was hoping so I've ordered a very discounted Makita - all of my existing ones are corded. I prefer the colour of the Makita stuff anyway (tart)

I had a bad day with my tyre inflators a few years ago - the old 12v one died just as it started, but it had lasted me donkeys years and trackdays to be fair, and was only a cheapie. So I got the twin barrel Clarke jobbie out to give myself a workout - a couple of minutes in it blew the end caps off the barrels
These days I just drop by the petrol station and top them up for a quid.

Mines a Michelin branded one but it's clearly built to a price yeah, barely holding together. I have a single chamber one somewhere that I wouldn't trust to inflate the push bike

There was a chap on Pistonheads who overhauled a classic twin barrel pump, it was a lovely looking thing and completely rebuildable, pass it down to the grandkids kind of thing.

I've got a Heyner double barrel foot pump, but the seal on one of the barrels is on its way out and I'd really like to buy a service kit for it but can't find one anywhere.

I lived with my old Michelin foot pump for many years, but now I've got a Ring one which lives in the Skoda boot. It is decent, but it did blow the fuse in the Skoda after a couple of uses which isn't ideal.
Also have a Ryobi handheld battery one which I use for general top ups on both cars, that works well, probably not as fast as the Ring one but I just use it for a few psi here and there generally.
