Bloody Landlords

As mentioned in the other threads over the last few weeks I had agreed to rent a property in Suffolk. I did two viewings, the first one with the agent where I explained my work, financial details etc., and then submitted an application after the viewing with all those details. Went back a week later and met the landlord, who said I was first in line. Had a full tour, went through all the details about how to run and care for property, basically like a welcome tour, We had a great time, chatted for 90 minutes and he offered the property to me. I confirmed in writing on Monday, then the agent came back to me mid-week to say they were just making sure the contract was okay for me being self-employed and working from the property.
On Friday they emailed and said they've given the property to someone else. Cunts
It was literally the perfect place for me to live for the next year or two. Obviously I'll keep looking and other places will appear. But this places was seriously spot-on.

That’s shit - how very disappointing! I hate it when you have plans shot down through no fault of your own. Hopefully the next place you find will be even better.

That’s really bloody annoying mate. Sounds properly two faced of them.
Hope you can find somewhere just as nice, or maybe even better.
We’d be practically neighbours, forum wise, if you moved there. Eerily close geographically!
Maybe the landlord was a carnivore diet advocate and saw you trash talking it?

It’s ok, he hasn’t done carnivore yet so no-one is offended
Every aspect of buying, renting, organising anything to do with houses is stressful and awkward!
Lots of lovely places in Suffolk, fear not!
Dave!

Perhaps think of it as a bullet dodged! You'll find another house, hopefully one much better.

That’s pretty rubbish; sorry to hear it Gav.
The internet speed looks shit, if that’s any consolation, so may have made working from there painful.

In fact the internet speed is fine, because the property was wrongly listed by openreach, something I sorted out for them! I raised a ticket with openreach as there’s full fibre available at neighbouring properties, but that barn didn’t. They came back to me yesterday to confirm they’ve updated their database now so it will now show as having fast speeds. Might see if they can undo that, bastards

That’s funny you’re so close, the countryside around there is lovely, I really enjoyed the area as a whole.
