No, I'm not talking about what you get up to in the shower.
This question applies to both BishBashBosch Series 6 and non BishBashBosch Series 6 devices.

6 times a year, I do a wash of all my work gear to get it as clean as possible and use the Beckmann stuff straight after on a hot wash.

Run one through a couple of times a year and the machine always seems a little quieter after.
My wife thinks the more detergent and softener the better so i assume its cleaning up the residue and soap scum build up?

Indeed! When the machine indicates that it desires to be cleaned, Alex goes to get into his Service Wash outfit, before instructing one of the staff to "feed the beast. Maximum temperatures!".

One does not have such an outfit, unless you are referring to one of those ghastly modern contrivances, the tuxedo.
As for the help around the house, they don't require instructing. They are well-trained.

I chuck soda crystals into each wash, which seems to keep things squeaky.

Just remember nothing cleans the door seal drain except a good wiping out, mines always full of the rubbish the wife doesn’t take out of pockets, loose change, receipts, bits of tissues, pens, screws, the list goes on
