Hacked Facebook help
Hacked Facebook help
Mates Facebook has been hacked. They’ve changed her phone number and email on the account. Any ideas how to get it back?

She needs to contact Facebook support if she's not configured any other recovery options.

Re: Hacked Facebook help
No no no. Don't contact facebook. Just ask a bunch of randos on a forum who have no power to do anything about it. THAT will fix itDeskJockey wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2024 7:30 pm She needs to contact Facebook support if she's not configured any other recovery options.

Re: Hacked Facebook help
Already tried, they won’t help as the email and phone number don’t match what the hacker has put on the account…Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2024 7:38 pmNo no no. Don't contact facebook. Nobody can but them. There must be a way to escalate?

Re: Hacked Facebook help
It’s a nightmare as Facebook are beyond useless at supporting people who have been hacked. Also another final option is to hire a hacker to re-hack your account and get it back
Re: Hacked Facebook help
Sounds like they are as awesume as Twitter.
When I first tried to create a Twitter account (over 10yrs ago), the system advised there was already an account associated with my email address. Huh?
I did vaguely remember receiving some emails regarding twitter in the past, but I assumed they were spam/phishing and ignored them. I definitely didn't click any "confirm your email" type messages.
Went to Twitter support, and there was "nothing they could do".
Eventually they gave me the user "handle" - it was a guy (in Australia) with a similar name. They advised that I should DM him. Erm..... I don't have a Twitter account so I can't DM him. OK - can you email him? Erm... the only email address that you or I have for him is actually my email address....
Oh yeah.
So only one option available - I reset his password (which came through to my email address of course) logged onto his account, and DM'd what I believed was his partner, explaining the situation. I confirmed that I had no interest in reading his previous DM's and was therefore not doing so, but could she please contact him to advise what had happened and how it was preventing me from creating my own account, and that I would reset his password to B3llendw4ll0p3r (or whatever it was) in 24hrs so he could go in and correct the email address on his account, and reset his password again.
I received a "WTF HacKoRz - leave mY mAn aLon3 you b4sTaRD hElp HelP!" response so I instead advised that I wasn't a hackorz, asked could she please contact her man to advise what had happened and how it was preventing me from creating my own account, and that I would reset his password to B3llendw4ll0p3r (or whatever it was) in 24hrs so he could go in and correct the email address on his account, and reset his password again.
Eventually she got it.....
He changed his account to reflect his actual email address, which meant my email address was now "available" to be used to create another Twitter account, and we all lived happily after. Total faff.
