6 Series Purchase

I didn't ask the forum, just bought the one I wanted. Technically it is a Series 6, but semantics...
Washing machine emitted a bad sound on Saturday. Sounded like the drum driving mechanism had given up (there'd been the odd squeak, but nothing very worrying).
With holiday coming up and the needs of a family it was a quick decision to order a new one. It is a Bosch Series 6 something something. It is connected and running the first wash. Happy days. Just need to work my way through the mountain of laundry we've accumulated.

Colour? Spec? HP or straight cash?

White. It has many different programmes. Cash, it was only £499.

I’d say I feel like a peasant with my series 4, however as it was free I’m not complaining

If the TVs go in the hallway, what room do we install washing machines in?

You are obviously correct, and I shall submit to the forum members for judgment, but in my defence speed was very much of the essence. The amount of laundry the children generate is quite spectacular.

Dining room obviously. So one can throw ones soiled napkins straight in the machine without having to trouble the servants unduly.

Good work, who needs the hive mind when it comes to mundane stuff like this....
... the answer being me. We replaced a tumble drier recently and got a Samsung one which plays cheery melodies whenever you touch a button or a cycle starts/finishes. Unfortunately it relies on a heat pump to do the actual drying because that's eco friendly apparently. It's also as effective as having an asthmatic dog panting on your washing to dry it.
Useless.

Update!
It washes clothes, obviously.
It is quieter than the old one and has a frigging light inside that comes on when you open the door! Wonders will never cease!

We’ve had a heat-pump Zanussi dryer for a decade now - it takes longer to dry than a conventional one, but that doesn’t bother me. Provides lovely water for the iron and steam mop. I think it’s great.
Has required a new belt and tensioner, and a few fluff clean-outs (inside the machine and also the condensor), but that’s it.

I want my stuff to come out of a tumble dryer almost too hot to handle! This one takes hours (which is fine) but even on its hottest setting it just kind of gently dries stuff.

I don’t think, as a Miele owner, we can play anymore.

Yeah they don’t get hot hot. Which means there is no chance of shrinking your wife’s top and being called a fucking dick.

We've a Samsung heat pump dryer. Dries clothes absolutely fine. They shouldn't really be coming out baked to a crisp anyway.
I'm amazed ours is still going though as I know the whole mechanism is out of true and the fan has burned a hole through the rear casing through friction.

seems happy now it's created its own clearance though. I can only assume it got damaged in the kitchen renovation a few years ago.

My wife has managed to shrink 2 of my jumpers in ours, so it can be done

We haven’t got a tumble drier - we have a dehumidifier unit instead which works well. we might still get a drier for sheets and stuff, but it’s been on “the list” for about 6 years!

I don't tumble dry T-Shirts for that reason. Always Air Dry...
